rqr\ / In connection with the picture "The Miracle now showing at the Indiana, an effort wa* made to find the miracle men of business endeavor. Were we successful? Yes, even beyond our fondest expectation. We found a man, yes one man, not an organization with high-powered engineers, expensive board of directors or any other of the thousand and one things that were considered essential to success, but a single individual. We leave it to you if we have not found a miracle man here in Indianapolis. This gentleman two years ago reorganized his business in anew location, with ideas worth thousands of dollars, both to himself and the motoring public. His keen mind was quick to realize, even at that early day of the depression, that something must be done to make motoring more enjoyable and less expensive. First he conceived the plan of mass production in car washing. He hired ten men where one had been hired before, instead of waiting from one to three hours for your car to be washed, he made it possible to have a spic-and-span automobile in ten minutes. But in order to keep this vast array of men busy, one must have volume. Tills was obtained by cutting the price from *1.50 up to $2.00 down to 50 cents. This move brought the price of car washing within the reach of every one. This move in itself would entitle him to the title of ‘ miracle man" but he is aggressive and as time went on and motorists flocked to his door, he widened his activities by this same principle of mass production and introduced the 50-cent car grease, gasoline from one to three cents cheaper, oil at unheard of prices, road service 50c and numerous other miracle moves. Was his success easy? By all means not. He was opposed by competitors whose vicious tongues lashed at his heels. All manner of threats and abuses were heaped upon him, but with the courage of a Viking, backed by the soundness of his judgment and with and earnest desire to be of service to all motorists, whether rich or poor, he has overcome all obstacles and now sits supreme on the throne of miracles. 9 Who is this wonder man? You probably have guessed him to be Mr. Indianap, but that is the flame of his business. His name is Samuel L. Trotcky. The above is from an article written by one of Indianapolis’ leading newspaper men. AND
