/traight from the shoulder, f Mr. Indianapolis Citizen, who is your I LEADER in this town? Who does the I GREAT BIG JOB —who blazes the trail / when the call to community service comes? Don t think I don't know that we have a lot of fine clubs and organizations ... all of them with real constructive programs ... but what organization, what club, what fraternity in this town MUST you look to for the BIG JOB? We’re living through a period when half-mea-sures don't count . . . Hellish hard work—coordinated work—won’t even break any records ... yet we folks in Indianapolis seem to be sitting back waiting for some Napoleon ... some Y\ ashington to lead the way—- , Well, Napoleon didn’t “think straight,’' that's all—but George Washington DID and Valley Forge yielded victory from the smoldering ashes of outlandish defeat . . . Folks you're face-to-face with another Valley Forge ... not the same kind, it’s true ... but nevertheless we had better look a little to the i Father of our Country in this hour of dark need and assume a little of his courage that made frozen-footed, raggedy, half-starved, Patriots intoan unbeatable army for "Offense. - ’

By this sign ye shall knoiv them . . . those leaders who have taken advantage of and pledged themselves to the support of the Business Building Program of YOUR Chamber of Commerce. • For Mean Professional Man— \ An insignia of high standing which says to all clients—l am a citizen! Retailers — An emblem of leadership represented by an opportunity to conduct merchandising enterprises designed to create greater sales made possible through Chamber sponsorship, with the aid and assistance of all retail organizations of our city. Wholesalers — An emblem of prominence represented by an opportunity for expanding and intensifying the markets for all locally distributed goods, under Chamber leadership.

I Attack ... never Defend! Any good General, any smart football coach, any real go-getting business man will tell you this is the first axiom of true success . . . Now let's attack, folks, all of us.
