D. A. R. Sees Posters of War Days Phil C Lewis was the speaker at the meeting' of the Caroline Scott Harrison chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution Thursday afternoon at the chapter house. His subject was ‘ War Posters," and he Illustrated his talk with a group of various types of posters used during the war. The program also included music, arranged by Mrs. Dorothy Knight Greene. A business meeting after the program was followed by a tea. The table was centered with spring flowers and lighted with blue and silver tapers. Appointments were in blue and silver. Mrs. O. B. Ent poured. Mrs. William H. Pickens was chairman of the committee of hostesses, assisted by Mesdames Eugene H. Darrach, N. A. Ryan, John Downing Johnson, A. R. Monroe, Walter H. Green. D. S. Lyebrook, William H. Hart, Misses Anna T. Sharp, Florence Howell and Sara Antzie. The chapter regent, Mrs. Maurice M. Tennant, presided. Legislative recommendations passed during the business meeting included one which would offer protection against Communism, through outlawry of Communistic propaganda and restriction of immigration, and another authorizing the government to build up the navy to the strength permitted by Washington and the London naval treaties. Copies of the recommendations will be sent to all senators and representatives. The measures were read by Miss Clara Gilbert, chapter chairman of legislation. Mrs. Ralph Rhowalter announced that, a card party would he given April 28 at the chapter house. Mrs. Edgaf Blessing. Danville, reported on the annual conference of national patriotic organizations in Washington early in the year.
Mrs. Heiskell Takes Flower Mission Post Mrs. Arthur Heiskell was elected to fill a vacancy on the board of Ihe Indianapolis Flower Mission in its monthly session Thursday morning in the Architects and Builders building. Reports were given by Mrs. Florence Hcrz Stone on the progress of the educational campaign, and by Mrs. Fred Noerr, visitor. Mrs. Noerr stressed the importance of securing a hospital for isolation of advanced tuberculosis patients, whose number in the city, he said, is increasing each month. Mrs. Noerr also asserted more children are being infected each month. She reported that 3,818 quarts of milk were distributed in March, and 141 Easter treats secured through the Lavelette Dickey fund. Twentythree new cases were received, five patients were entered in Sunnyside and one in the Veterans’ hospital. Reports to Be Given Women in Education Council of Administrative Women in Education will hold its April meeting at 4 Monday in the recreation room at Jordan Memorial hall at Butler university, Reports of the following committee chairmen for the last year will be heard: Mrs. Huldah Kern, Mrs. Mary L. Ray, Mrs. L. A. Miller. Miss Flora Drake, Muss Verena Denzler, Miss Maude Price and Miss Anna Reade. Officers also will be elected. Mrs. Ray is chairman of the nominating committee. Miss Ruth Patterson, president, will preside. A social hour will follow the business meeting. Tea will be served with Miss Nellie Shapman.

Daily Recipe TOURNEDOS OF LAMB Have chops cut 14 inches thick from the boned and rolled shoulder. These are known as Saratoga chops. Have a slice of bacon wrapped around each chop. Lay the chops on a cold greased rack and place in the broiler oven. Sear well on both sides. After searing, lower the flame and turn occasionally during cooking. If desired, after searing the cooking may be finished in a moderate oven (375 to 400 degrees F.). It will require 25 to 30 minutes to cook chops of this thickness.
