Easter Vespers Easter vespers, celebrated with all the solemnity and beauty of the Liturgy, will be sung at SS. Peter and Paul Cathedral at 4:30 p. m„ Easter Sunday. The solemn processional of celebrant, assisting clergy and acolytes will be followed by the chanting of vesper psalms, antiphons and hymns of the day by the clergy choir stationed in the sanctuary, and the Schola Cantorum singing antiphonally from the choir loft. This ancient office of the church is seldom heard in this monastic form. The hour is announced for 4:30 o’clock and the Rev. Rector of the Cathedral extends an invitation to all Catholics of the city to be present at the Cathedral at this hour.
REALTORS WILL ENTERPOLITICS Tax Distribution Only Aim, Says Board Head. Pointing to “the pitiful state into which the tax system has fallen,” the Indianapolis Real Estate Board Thursday decided to seek election of members to each house of the legislature men who will represent directly the property and homeowning voters of the state. Since its beginning, twenty-one years ago, the Real Estate Board never has participated in politics. “We only have one aim in entering a political campaign,” said Dan Le Gore, board preisdent. “That is to provide a just distribution of taxation in our state. Never before has our economic life faced such a crisis. “Huge incomes and intangible valuables to the extent of .many millions of dollars are not taxed in Indiana. We will try to force those who control this wealth to take up their burden in the tax scheme. “It is not fair that the property owner, the small home owner, should be penalized for his desire to aid his state and community by investing his money in local real estate.” Directors of the Real Estate board will act as a committee to select the candidates. First meeting will be held Monday at 4 at Real Estate Board offices, 821 Lemcke building. Paul L. McCord is chairman. Members of the committee are: Fred. L. Palmer, Ralph E. Hueber, Charles O. Among the citations which comprise the lesson-sermon is the following from the Bible: “O Lord, Thou art My God: I will exalt Thee, I will praise Thy name; for Thou hast done wonderful things; Thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that Is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death in victory, and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces, and the rebuke of his people shall He take away from off all the earth, for the Lord hath spoken it” (Isa. 25: 1. 7. 8). The lesson-sermon also includes the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health, with Key to the Scriptures,” by 'Mary Baker Eddy: “The Bible declares: ‘All things were made by Him (the divine word); and without Him was not anything made that was made.’ This is the eternal verity of divine science. If sin, sickness and death were understood as nothingness, they would disappear. As vapor melts before the sun. so evil would vanish before the reality of good. One must hide the other.
