FIGHT ON BONUS BILL NEXT ON ; HOUSE SLATE Veterans’ Measure Expected to Pass, Though Veto May Block It. tty ttrrippu-TToicarit Xeve paper Alliance WASHINGTON, March 24.—The two-billlon-dollar cash bonus bill lor World war veterans is scheduled to follow the tax bill as a major issue before the house. Congressional experts believe it Is likely to pass despite stout opposition in congress, though perhaps without enough votes to override a presidential veto. The Patman bill, authorizing a $2,000,000,000 bond issue to pay off the adjusted service certificates under the 1925 law at their face, or 1945, value, will be considered by the ways and means committee immediately after conclusion of the house debate on the revenue bill. This plan was agitated widely last session, but, after a pitched battle, the 50 per cent loan provision was substituted for it and enacted.
Congressional sentiment is so in-ent child.
