Dale sent word, early Wednesday, Ito Representative Louis Ludlow <Dem.) of Indianapolis, that he | would like to have the Indiana | Democratic congressman escort him • to the attorney-general's office. ' Ludlow immediately responded that he believed the request just. All Too Busy Then word was passed to other Democrats in the delegation, and a caucus was held in the office of Speaker John Garner. All were present except Ludlow and Representative Griswold of Peru. In this caucus it was agreed they were too busy to find a time when the entire delegation could make the trip to the justice department. didn't tell that story to the press. “We decided we wanted to confer with Dale first,” said Greenwood. “This morning, when Dale called at Ludlow’s office, Ludlow apparently had not heard that he had been chosen and he pleaded that he then was "extremely busy with committee work, and took Dale to Greenwood’s office and left him. After much round-about conversation, Greenwood suggested that the proper place to handle the case was in court. Dale soon departed. It was then that Watson came to the rescue. “I know nothing about George Dale’s case,’’ said Watson. “I don’t want to know. But I do want to see that he is given a hearing.” One rumor here, seeking to explain the coldness of the Indiana Democrats toward Dale was to the effect that some Indiana machine leaders had sent word to “steer clear of Dale.” THE ITCH (Scabies) It sole cause is the tormenting itch-mite.
