Editorial Tea Plans Announced Mrs. Prank T. Dowd, president of the Marlon County Democratic Women’s Club, has been named chairman of hostesses for the card party to be given at 2:30 Friday in the Florentine room at the Claypool for women members and guests of the Indiana Editorial Association. GARDENING TALK SERIES ARRANGED A series of six talks on gardening by local women well-known for their practical success In this field, is being offered at the Young Women’s Christian Association under the direction of Mrs. W. C. Gardner to begin March 1. Mrs. Perry O’Neal is scheduled to give the first talk on the subject, “Early Blooms from Annuals.” Other speakers will be Mrs. Robert T. Ramsey, “Come Into My Garden”; Mrs. Charles Lynn, “Little Back Yard Gardens”; Mrs. Clarence Hughel, “Rock Gardens”; Miss Elizabeth Bertermann, “Color Arrangement,” and Mrs. Archer Sinclair, “Design in the Garden.” The group will meet Tuesday morning at 10:30. PRESENT DAY CLUB TO FETE HUSBANDS Members of the Present Day Club will entertain their husbands with a dinner and program Monday night at the Indiana State School for the Deaf, 1200 East Forty-second street, with Mrs. O. M. Pittinger as the hostess. Following the dinner members of the department of physical education at the school will give a demonstration, which will include colonial dances, and military drills. VASHINGTON IS HONORED BY CLUB Irvington Catholic Women’s Study Club held a Washington program today at the home of Mrs. L. M. Means, 55 Richview drive. The meeting opened with a pledge to the flag. Mrs. H. A. Robertson read a paper on "Washington in Civil and Military Life,” and Mrs. J. S. Bray on “Washington, the Man.” The meeting closed with the singing of patriotic songs. New Chapter of Pi Omicron to Be Formed Anew chapter of Pi Omicron sorority will be organized at 2:30 next Friday at the Washington hotel, for home women. Mrs. John Hays Bailey, who will be prbgram leader, will review “Letters of Ellen Terry and Bernard Shaw” at this meeting. Mrs. Warren W. Shearer, organizer, will preside. The group will be conducted as the other chapters, and will meet twice a month for study and informal discussion of classic literature and subjects of contemporary interest. Mrs. Bailey will review contemporary literature each month and also will conduct a course in conversational English. This is the fifth chapter of Pi Omicron to be organized in Indianapolis, the other four being made up of business and professional women. Women interested in this project may obtain further information from Mrs. Shearer at local headquarters, 311 Circle Tower building.

Monday Club will observe its thirty-seventh anniversary and celebrate the George Washington bicentennial Monday afternoon with a colonial tea at the D. A. R. chapter house. Marion County War Mothers Plan Bicentennial Program
Marion county chapter of American War Mothers will give a program in celebration of George Washington’s bicentennial at 2 Tuesday afternoon at Municipal Gardens. Mrs. Emma J. Strobel, patriotic chairman, has arranged the program. The program will open with the pledge of allegiance to the flag, followed by a tribute to Washington. A quartet composed of Mesdames Ellen Claire, Mary James, Stella Kirk and Belle Hayes will sing. They will be dressed to represent the historical characters, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and James Monroe.

The program will close with the singing of the StarSpangled Banner by the entire group. Tea will follow the program. The table will be centered with a miniature replica of Washington crossing the Delaware, and a small figure of Martha Washington. The program is open to the public.

Box Parties Listed for Guild Ball Indianapolis society will be represented at the eleventh annual Sunnyside Guild ball Feb. 29 at the Indiana ball room when many box parties will be given. Sunnyside guild was organized among Indianapolis women to provide entertainment and cheer at the Sunnyside sanatorium, to make the long hours brighter for the patients. County appropriations do not cover such expenditures. During last year the guild has aided numerous families having tuberculosis patients in the homes, and each month the list grows larger. The annual dance of Sunnyside guild finances its activities. The party has come to be recognised as one of the most meritorious charitable and social events of each year. Zeta Tau Alpha sorority will hold its annual state day festivities Saturday, March 12, at Highland Golf and Country Club. Named as Chairman of Vote League Resolutions Committee
Mrs. John E. Moring, president of the Ft. Wayne League of Women Voters, is chairman of the resolutions committee for the state convention March 24, 25 in South Bend. Other members of the committee are Mrs. Frank Donner, Greencastle; Mrs. Sigel Brown, Lafayette; Mrs. John A. Hauff, Valparaiso, and Mrs. S. E. Sembower, Bloomington. Convention program will be centered around a discussion of programs of public finance. One of the features of the meeting will be a round table discussion of county government as it relates to public finance, public welfare and education. Present plans for the banquet session the night of March 24, include a presentation of the various taxation systems which have been worked out and put into efTect by other states and suggestions for reorganizing local government to cut the costs to the taxpayer. Emphasis will be placed on the savings effected through preventive social legislation such as prohibition, compulsory school attendance law, and the mothers’ aid law.

Mothers Will Give Party at Tri Delt House Tri Psi sorority, an organization of mothers of Delta Delta Delta, will entertain with a colonial tea Monday afternoon for members of the Butler faculty, and mothers’ clubs of other Butler sororities at the Delta Delta Delta chapter house, 809 Hampton drive. In the receiving line will be Miss Anna Marie Sander, chapter president; Mrs. William Wiese, house mother; Mrs. W. S. Holt, president of Tri Psi; Mrs. Carl Sander and Mrs. Frank Brown. Sunshine Club Will Entertain at Sanatorium Children’s Sunshine Club of Sunnyside will entertain children at the sanatorium at 3 Monday at a George Washington party. A program will be given by pupils of the Irvington school of music, with Miss Dorothea Hogle as accompanist. Mary Frances Stuckey will dance and Donald Stuckey, in costume, will sing. Harriett Rachel Wells at Martha, and Betty Ann Florick as George, will dance a minuet, and readings will be given by Venita Ellen Coleman, Dale Campbell and Donald Woerner.
