February luncheon meeting of community welfare department will be held at 12:30 at the club house. Baker of Marion county criminal court will be speaker, with “Thoughts of a Judge,” as his topic. At the business meeting following the talk, a nominating committee for election of department officers in March will be appointed, and reports of standing committees will be heard. CALENDAR CLUB TO GIVE COLONIAL TEA May group of Calendar Club of North Methodist Episcopal church will be hostesses for a colonial tea from 2 to 4 Thursday in the social room of the church. Colonial Breakfast Will Be Given by Pen Women League
In observance of the Washington bicentennial, the League of American Pen Women will give a colonial breakfast at the Propylaeum at noon next Saturday. Mrs. Edith Lombard Squires of Richmond will read an original one-act drama, "Washington in Command,” and a Washington sonnet. For several years Mrs. Squires has been producing historic drama, children’s sketches, pageants, oneact plays and comedy skits. She has had several volumes published, including "Queen Jezebel,” her first dramatic writing; “Four in a Box”; “Straight Through the Western Gate”; ‘‘Who Said Pie?” a comedy which won first place in the Indiana

Woman’s Party to Hold State Meeting Here Indiana branch, National Woman’s Party will elect officers at its state convention Monday at the Spink-Arms. Program will begin at 2:30 with a welcome address by Mrs. Ovid Butler Jameson, state president, nominated for re-election. Dr. Minerva Pontius of Evansville also will greet the assembly. Following a report of the legislative committee by Mrs. Hereford Dugan, chairman, Mrs. Florence Thacker, attorney, will speak on “Equal Rights for Men and Women Before the Law.” Miss Julia Landers also will speak on “Equal Political Opportunity for Men and Women.” Discussion will follow. Fayette Club’s Reunion Dinner Date Is Fixed Fayette Club will hold its sixth annual reunion dinner at 1:30 Sunday, Feb. 21, at the Colonial tea room, 1433 North Pennsylvania street. Mrs. S. M. The Fayette Club was organized by a group of women who formerly lived in Fayette county, for social and charitable purposes. The club has been active in civic charity work during the last year. New G. 0. P. Council to Give Party Newly organized Indiana Council of Republican Women will entertain at 2 Tuesday at the Columbia Club with a program and reception. The state board will meet at 10. Plans of the organization include district conventions to be held over the state during March and a state convention in Indianapolis in April. A monthly publication will be issued featuring activities of councils in all parts of the state, important announcements and special articles. The organization plans to create one state council, twelve district councils, ninety-two county councils, I, township councils, the entire suborganization to be directed by 13,464 officers and directors. All Republican women in the state are eligible to membership. Mrs. Frank J. Lahr is state president. Morgan Will Speak Mrs. Frank D. Hatfield has been appointed chairman of the Twelfth district council, and Mrs. Thomas A. Brooks chairman of the Ninth district council. Other district chairmen will be appointed soon. Alumnae of Theta Sigma Phi to Attend Banquet Tonight
Indianapolis alumnae of Theta Sigma Phi, national journalistic sorority, will hold its first Matrix table banquet at 6:30 tonight at Sheffield inn. Silhouette motif will be carried out in decorations of black and white. Mrs. Alice Bidwell Wesenberg, assistant professor of English at Butler university, will be speaker with “News and the Muse” as her subject.
