SHOW HUNDREDS OF SPECIMENS FOR GEOLOGISTS Children’s Museum Display Second Most Complete in Indiana. Second most complete geological display in the state has been opened to the public recently at the Children’s Museum at 1150 North Meridian street. This permanent collection was planned and arranged by John B. Carr, curator of the museum, and ’onn Ealy, who have worked oh the project for five years. One grouping includes more than 100 specimens from glacial boulders which were picked up in Indiana within a thirty-mile radius of Indianapolis. All these examples have been carried to this locality by glacial action. A general collection of 200 specimens was donated by Mary Jane and Laura MacKenzie Sheerin. Other groups include various forms of copper, iron, lead, silver, gold and zinc. In the exhibit are fossils with leaf imprints and animal footmarks, and petrified bark, of one of the earliest tree forms found six feet below the second vein of the Brazil block coal in a clay formation. Semi-precious stones including opal, garnet, agate, amethyst, quartz and crystalline forms are presented in an attractive arrangement. Study arrangements for student identification and collections required in the schools for physiography studies are displayed. A miniature cavern constructed from material of Indiana caverns and the Carlsbad cave in New Mexico has attracted attention of visitors, Carr said. ■ ~ 'i Brotherhood to Elect GREENSBURG, Ind., Dec. 18 New officers of the Baptist Brotherhood are J. O. Barker, president; J. V. Hayes, vice-president, and Arthur Rimstidt, secretary, and John Hier, treasurer.
