Old Gloiy Society to Have Party Old Glory Society, Children of the American Revolution, has announced its year’s program and committees. Christmas party for junior members is scheduled for Dec. 22 at the D. A, R. chapter house with Ann and Jean Rcdwine in charge of arrangements. Senior members will entertain with a New Year supper dance at the chapter house Jan. 1, reservations for which must be made by Dec. 23. Miss Betty Kallecn and Miss Mary Ellen Voyles are co-chairmen and will be assisted by the program committee and officers. Miss Charlotte Griggs is supper chairman. , Other winter events to be sponsored by the society include an ice skating party at Meridian Hills country club at 2 Saturday. Jan. 16, with Richard Fowler and Daniel Taylor in charge of arrangements and a colonial, party in costume at 2:30 Saturday Feb. 3 at the chapter house, in celebration of the George Washington bt-ccntennial. Miss Margaret Millikan and Miss Patricia Gilliland will make the arrangements for this affair. Mrs. Gustavus B. S. Taylor is president of the society and Miss Mary Ellen Voyles is junior president. Miss Betty Kalleen is program chairman. Mrs. John Downing Johnson is state sponsor for the society.

% Daily Recipe NUT BRITTLE 2 cups granulated sugar 7-4 teaspoon salt 7-4 teaspoon soda, t teaspoon vanilla 2 cups nuts *0 Heat the sugar gradually in a clean, smooth skillet. Stir constantly with the bowl of the spoon until a golden sirup is formed. Remove from the fire and stir in quickly the salt, soda and vanilla. Pour the sirup over a layer of nuts in a greased pan. When cold, crack into small pieces.
MRS. TURNER TO BE CLUB HOSTESS Mrs. George L. Turner will entertain members of the Mothers’ Birthday Club and their families with a Christmas party Saturday night at her home, 1525 wAt Twenty-seventh street. Christmas greens and red and green candles will be used in decorating. A lighted Christmas tree will be arranged for the children. Mrs. A. C. Anderson, president, will be in charge of games, and a program of carols. There will be tables for bridge and bunco. Mrs. Turner will be assisted by her daughters, Misses Viola and Mildred Turner. STUDY CLUB HOLDS CHRISTMAS PARTY Irvington Catholic Woman’s Study Club held its annual Christmas luncheon today at the home of Mrs. Thomas J. Murphy, 5322 Lowell avenue. Christmas greens were used in decorating. Dancing pupils of Miss Marcy Dirnberger gave a program. They were Patty Ryan, Joan Richey and Gloria Smith. Members sang carols and exchanged gifts.
