Nov. 17.—Rioting started today outside the Shoreditch dole offices. Mounted and foot police charged a crowd of 3,000 unemployed, dispersed them. Two policemen and several unemployed were injured slightly.

Hy f'nitrd Press WINNIPEG, Nov. 17.—A huge press which weighs as much as ten Pullman coaches when loaded with paper, was in use in the Winnipeg Free Press plant today, after being inaugurated by officers of the newspaper and high Winnipeg and Manitoba officials. The press, first of its kind to go into use in Canada, is a ten-unit, high speed Goss press. It has a capacity of more than 100,00 fortypage papers an hour. On a test run with ten units operating it printed 104,000 copies of a twenty-six-page paper in an hour. John W. Sifton, secretary and treasurer of the Free Press, started the press in motion by throwing a switch on his desk at Toronto.
