FOR!) REVAMPS SCALE OF PAY DaiTy Wage Reduction From $7 to $6 Forecast. (Coovrieht. 1931. bv United Press* j DETROIT, Oct. 29—The Ford Motor Company quietly is readjust- ; ing its wage scale, reducing the 1929 I “prosperity dollar” increase. The present minimum pay of $7, set by Henry Ford more than a year ago, after a conference with President Hoover at Washington, probably will be reduced to the old base of $6. Higher paid employes will suffer reductions in proportion. Departmental heads are handling Ford's wage cuts. These executives practically are reorganizing their entire stafTs, adjusting a “seniority scale” of increase which has been In effect in most plants. Under this system, employes re- I ceived periodical increases and higher executives were said to feel that many workers are being paid more than their proportionate ability warrants. The changes are going on slowly, i As each department “lays off” its help for mechanical changes coin- j cident with the changed model, the j laborers are rehired at the employment office. After a physical inspection and acceptance, they generally are reassigned to different jobs and lower ! pay; ' Legal x\otices LEGAL SAI.E Notice Is hereby given pursuant to the statutes of the State of Indiana that the undersigned, conducting a public storage house will on Wednesday, November ltn 1931. sell for accrued charges the household goods and other (roods belongin'? to the following named people - X.
