PREMIER LAVAL >S ALL SET FOR AMERICAN VISIT Holds Final Parley With Cabinet Aids: Tardieu Chief in Absence. by RALPH HEINZEN - Prrs Staff Corrcsnondcnt PARIS, Oct. 15.—Premiere Pierre Laval and members of his government today had a final parley preparatory to his departure from Le Havre Friday on the first visit any French premier has made to America while in active office. The cabinet decided that M. Ane Tardicu, predecessor in office of Premier Laval and present minister of agriculture, will serve as acting minister of interior, and M. Leon Berard, minister of justice, as acting premier. The general staff at the premier’s ofnce in the ministry of interior also has arranged for an elaborate wireless service of communications which permit M. Laval to keep in contact with government affairs until the He de France is near the banks. with parliament/s reopening delayed until mid-November, there is nothing to cause M. Laval any worries during his absence. The ministers urged upon him to take the time necessary in Washington to make a successful exposure of the French view point on world problems. Death Splinter Hy tJnilmi Frees LOS ANGELES, Oct. 15.—A splinter in his finger was the indirect cause of the death of William Green, 43. He was standing on a Pullman coach vestibule .when a fellow workman removed the splinter. The pain and sight of blood caused Green to faint. He fell off the vestibule and fractured his skull.
