Special features of the parade, besides the commercial floats, include floats from the park department, floats from rural schools of each of the nine townships in Marlon county and the world’s youngest radio star, Mary Ann Adams, who will ride by herself in a pony cart. Frank Mayr Jr., secretary of state, is grand marshal of the first division, and E. Kirk McKinney is grand marshal of the second division, which will be led by Harry Voshell, fire chief. Prizes will be awarded the three best floats by a committee of judges who will review the parade from a stand at Kelly and Shelby streets. Gus Mueller, chairman of the parade committee, announced today that several visiting mayors of Indiana cities will be present to view the parade, among whom are Mayor Jack Edwards, Marion, and Mayor William Dentlinger, Connersville. Michael E. Foley, Indianapolis attorney, will be the only speaker on the program Sunday afternoon in Garfield park. His address on safety will be preceded by musical numbers, dances, a juggling act and Monte Beehler’s dog and pony show. Arrangements are being made to handle a crowd of more than 35,000 people. Lieutenant Frank Owen, Gus Mueller, Ed Burk and Tod Stoops are general chairmen in charge of the safety rally.
