ORDER CAR LINE REROUTED FOR AID OF PUPILS Works Board Action Follows Denial of Petition to Run Busses. Rerouting of the Minnesota street far line to conform with recommendation of citizens living in the southeast section of the city was ordered today by the works board. The order followed denial of a petition of L. J. Smith, bus operator, to extend a bus line through Fletcher avenue and State streets to the south section of the city. Under the order, the trolley line tj'ill turn off Virginia avenue at South street, west to Illinois street, find thence run north to Washington street and return. The line now ruas to Maryland street. Spelled Down By United Pre CLEVELAND, Aug. 21. Five Democratic precinct election workers were deprived of their positions today because they could not spell the name of their party. Struggling to pass the literacy test recently ordered by the county board of elections as a qualification for office, the five failures wrote variously: “I am a member of the — Denocraitcn, Denukrat, Dimacratin, Dinocrat and finally Dinetec—party.” Manual, appeared last week before the board to urge granting of the bus line petition. Additional cars will be routed over the line to increase facilities, rail officials told the board. RECEIVE GARAGE BIDS Municipal Airport Structure to House Four Trucks. Bids were received today by the works board for erection of a fourtruck garage adjoining the administration building at Municipal airport. The structure will house gasoline trucks and other motor equipment of the airport. Os eight bids received, the low was submitted by A. A. Mitchell & Cos. at $4,721.

HAWKS CRACKS HIS OWN MARK IN SPEED RUN Flies From New York to Ft. Worth in 7 Hours 57 Minutes. By United Prt*t FORT WORTH, Tex., Aug. 21. Frank Hawks, air speed king, listed another record today among his many conquests of the air after flying from New York to Fort Worth in 7 hours 57 minutes. Hawks also held the former New York-Fort Worth record of 8 hours 30 minutes, set last January. His average speed for the flight Thursday was 187 miles an hour. DO-X to Cuba SAN JUAN, Porto Rico, Aug. 21—After loading aboard 2,477 gallons of gasoline and four barrels of oil, the German flying boat DO-X took off this morning for Antilla, Cuba. It is flying from Rio De Janeiro to New York.
