home, 3805 West Washington street, after an illness of several months. Funeral services will be held at the home Monday morning at 8:30, and at St. Anthony's Catholic church at 9. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery. Mr. Holmes was born in Lafayette and there received his public school education. He came to Indianapolis twenty-five years ago, and was yardmaster for the Big Four railroad before his appointment to the public service commission position. He was a member of St. Anthony’s church, and had been a grand knight in the Knights of
Oolumbus. He also was a member of the Order of Railway Conductors. Surviving him are the widow, Mrs. Katherine Holmes; a daughter. Miss Martha Mae Holmes, and three brothers, E. J. Holmes, J. B. Holmes, and Louis A. Holmes, all of Indianapolis. Dance Masters’ Session Ends. LOS ANGELES. Aug. 21.—The dancing masters of America, will hold their next year's convention in Toronto. Ontario, it was announced today as this year's sessions were brought to a close.

DEMAND BISHOP STOCKS DATA Brokers Asked to Release Transaction Records. B'J United Press WASHINGTON, Aug. 21—Washington stock brokers today received i letters from the Nye campaign fund
committee of the senate asking for information as to stock transactions in the name of Bishop James Cannon Jr. The committee said it desired information covering the period from July, 1928, to March 1. 1929. The circular letter also asked a schedule regarding stock transactions of A. L. Burroughs, J. Sidney Peters. M. P. Carmon and Stephen Trent. The brokers were told that the information was desired in connection with senate resolutions under which the Nye committee is investigating Cannon's anti-Smith activities in the 1928 campaign.

day on the twenty-ninth annual picnic staged by the Elks for wards of orphanages in the city. Under the guidance of the Elks committee and city recreation department workers the children played, ate a picnic dinner, and were entertained by amusement devices at the park until late afternoon.
