On April 22nd, 1929, Herbert Hoover made his first address to the nation at large asking for law enforcement and obedience. In his statements the President quoted figures,' that were pathetic but true. With knowledge and authority the President of the United States shows us that more than nine thousand human beings are lawlessly killed every year in the United States. Just a half as many arrests follow; One-seventh of these slayers are convicted and a very small percentage are really punished. (Twenty times as many people in proportion to population are lawlessly killed in the United States comparing with Great Britain. He also states no part of the country, rural, or urban is immune. Life and property are rela-

moral and religious training m the home; It is an undisputed fact that the juvenile delinquent of today is the criminal of tomorrow; We know that it is not lack of intelligence that causes crime but lack of character. Moral and ethical training in the home is one of the most vital forces in the upbuilding of character. This training must come during youth and the parent is obligated and most qualified for the task; To stop this crime wave and disrespect for law it is up to each parent to provide a wholesome atmosphere and good moral and ethical background for the youth of today, who are to assume the leadership of America tomorrow! AS THE PARENTS SOW SO SHALL THE CHILDREN REAP!
