ORPHANS FROLIC NEAR TERM-END Miniature Circus Feature of Program Today. \ A miniature circus was one of the features of a program presented this morning at the Orphans’ home, 4107 East Wasmngton street, by children who have been enrolled in a special vacation school conducted at the home this summer under the sponsorship of the Butler university college of education. During the five weeks of the school the children have been trained in manual arts and classroom work under the direction of student teachers from the Butler college of education. The program thus morning, which included skits portraying Indian life and thp circus, represented work which has been accomplished by the school during the period. All costumes and properties used in the program were made by the children. The school will end Friday, according to Miss Belle Lockridge of the university faculty, who has been in charge of the session. Asa climax to their five weeks of study the children will be taken for a bus trip over the city, which will include all points of interest in Indianapolis.
OWNER IS SUED IN POOL MISHAP Bather Asks $2,500 for Injuries Last Summer. A bather in the Longacre swimming pool took offense at being sucked into a sewer pipe by the undertow current and today filed suit for $2,500 damages against Edwin E. Thompson, pool owner, in superior court three. Walter Shriner, plaintiff, charges he paid admission to take a refreshing bath in the pool last August, and while swimming the water was changed. This emptying of the pool’s water "Caused a swift suction that pulled him into a pipe, injuring his spine, he charges. Medical attention necessary has cost him $2,500, Bhriner stated in the suit. The pool is located on Madison road, north of Edgewood. DREISER’S CASE IS SET Goes to Court Wednesday Against Paramount-Publix. Bn I mini Press WHITE PLAINS, N. Y., July 16. —Th,e next round in the legal battle between Theodore Dreiser, author of “An American Tragedy,” and the Paramount -Public Corporation, which he charges with turning his novel into a "Hollywood version of a murder” in its screen translation, is scheduled for next, Wednesday in supreme court here. The author will ask for a permanent Injunction to restrain the moving picture company from showing the screen version of the book. Fishing ‘Come Back’ Bn 7 .Mrs special MONTICELLO, Ind.. July 16—A.
