Business Women to Name Head . By United Fwm RICHMOND, Va., July 10.—Mrs. Oellne M. Bowman, Richmond, was Dominated for president of the National Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs at the biennial convention here today to succeed Miss Marion H. McClench, Ann Arbor, Mich., incumbent. Mrs. BowTnan has served as first vice-president for the past two years. The election is being held today. Mrs. Bonnie K. Robertson, Hammond, has been nominated for the office of second vice-president, opposing Mrs. Eva Bovkery, Boise, Idaho, national publicity chairman, and publicity chairman in 1929 for the southern section of the good will tour. Mrs. Robertson is regional director for the north central region, and is a former state president. She also has served as state treasurer and as president of the Hammond Club. The question of discrimination against women in the field of business, industry, and politics again came before the biennial convention Thursday in a committee report from Miss Martha Connolle, East St. Louis, 111., chairman of the legislative committee. Miss Connolle recommended appointment of a committee of five to make a thorough survev of the subject of existent discrimination against women, to meet twice yearly and to report to the next biennial conclave, a “practical plan” for the elimination of such discriminations. Miss Lena Madesln Phillips, New York attorney and president of the International Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, recommended today a campaign to obtain 50,000 signatures of business and professional women to a petition asking that the international disarmament conference ih Geneva in February, 1932, put into immediate effect the pledges already made for reduction of armaments.

Miss Clegg Is on Honeymoon in Louisville Marriage of Miss Elizabeth Clegg, daughter of Mrs. Charles Goff, 503 North Emerson avenue, and Ronald Propps, Pendleton, took place Wednesday afternoon at the home of the Rev. L. B. Mosely in the presence of only members of the immediate families. Miss Elvera Klafzinsky, the bride’s only attendant, wore a gray crepe suit and carried Premier roses. Howard Cring was best man. The bride wore a pink satin suit with matching accessories, and carried Premier roses. Mr. and Mrs. Propps motored south for a honeymoon, and will be at home In three weeks in Louisville, Ky.

In a summary of the work she said that visits for June were high, and that a decrease was-shown in pay service. Hourly visits show improvement over May, but contract and part-pay visits are less. Intake of patients has shown a decrease during the last three months. In the absence of Miss Ruby Roger, superintendent of teaching, who is taking a special course this summer, Miss Ida Hubbert is in charge of student work. There have been two classes, a six weeks and nine weeks group, since the last meeting of the board.
