AUSTRIAN CABINET QUITS Resigns Because of Battles Over Nation’s Financial Difficulties. ’ By United Pres* VIENNA, June 16.—The Austrian cabinet resigned today because of , difficulties over solving the republic’s financial difficulties. The resignation was forecast a few hours earlier when Franz Winkler quit as minister of the interior, because of his opposition to the government's action in guaranteeing the liabilities of the Austrian Creditanstalt.

COMMUTERS’ TRAIN IS DERAILED: 20 INJURED Rear Car Hits Open Switch and Careens Into Freight, By United Press NEW YORK, June 16.—A rear car of a commuters’ train of the New York, New Haven & Hartford railroad, struck an open switch at the Woodlawn station in the Bronx today. careened across the ties into a steel pillar, rebounded into the back end of a standing freight train and then brought up with a rending crash against a steel abutment. First reports said that at least one man was killed in the wreck, but according to police information there were no fatalities. The injured numbered at least twenty. The passenger train, patronized principally by Manhattan business men, was inbound from New Rochelle, N. Y., for the Grand Central terminal. By United Press PASADENA, Cal., June 16.—A gold solution designed to aid in the treatment of infantile paralysis was announced at today’s session of the eighty-eighth meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. The solution, according to a cautiously worded paper by Drs. Frederick Eberson and William Mossman cf the University of California medical school, “appears to fulfill the requirements for a rapid, reliable method of detecting and measuring the amount of specific antibodies (immunity substances). “Only ten drops of blood serum are necessary for the test,” they said. “To the blood serum are added a specially prepared solution of a gold preparation and ether ingredients.
