Miss Payne to Wed in Church Rites Miss Phyllis Mahlon Payne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul T. Payne, 3060 North Meridian street, and Theodore Fransen van Gestel, will be married at 8:30 tonight in McKee chapel of Tabernacle Presi yterian church, the Rev. J. Amrose Dunkel .pastor, officiating. , The altar will be set In greenery, interspersed with clusters of white peonies tied with bows of silver tulle and lighted by cathedral candles in silver candelabrae. Miss Frances Wishard, organist, will play, and Mrs. Anita Scott will sing. “Liebestraume” will be played during the ceremony. Miss Diener Maid of Honor Miss Marguerite Diener will be maid of honor. Her gown will be of white silk net with a short coat of silver lace. She will wear silver sandals and carry an armful of lilies tied with silver ribbon. Miss Mary Elizabeth Driscoll and Miss Virginia Keith Mills, bridesmaids, will wear similar gowns of white silk net with long full skirts, and long draped scarfes of silver lace, gifts of the bride’s mother. They will carry long stemmed white peonies tied with large loops of silver tulle, and wear silver sandals. James Woolford will be van Gestel’s best man, and Russell Langsenkamp, Oscar Kaelin Jr., Paul B. Payne and Seth Ward will be ushers. The bride, whose father will escort her down the aisle, will wear a white satin empire gown with a short train, a Juliet cap of rose point lace and a tulle veil fastened with orange blossoms. She will carry the rose point lace handkerchief carried by her mother on her wedding day. The bouquet will be of orchids and lilies of the valley, with a show T er of lilies. Reception Will Follow A reception and buffet supper at the Indianapolis Athletic club will follow the ceremony. Mrs. Payne will be gowned in eggshell satin, with a brown lace scarf, and will wear gardenias. Mrs. Louise van Gestel, mother o fthe bridegroom, will wear black lace and white gardenias. Columbus Girl Is Married to W. H. Skinner Marriage of Miss Evelyn Reid Cline, daughter of Mrs. Eva M. Cline, Columbus, to William Herschell Skinner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Skinner, Bloomington, took place at 9 this morning at the Tabernacle Church of Christ in Columbus. The Rev. T. K. Smith officiated. Miss Pauline Muir, organist, played. The bride wore a gown of delphinium blue crepe, with long gored, skirt, trimmed with blue Alencon lace and a large blue rough straw hat. She carried Ophelia roses and delphinium. Following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Skinner left for a wedding trip through Kentucky and Ohio. They will be at home after June 20 in Dayton, O. The bride attended Indiana university, is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, and was graduated from Franklin college. Jane Bird Engaged to Missourian Announcement of the engagement of Miss Jane Bird, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Peelle, 544 North Central Court, to Karl Hardey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hardey, Warrensburg. Mo., will be made at a bridge tea to be given this afternoon at the Marott by Mrs. Peelle.
