YOUNG FARMER MURDERS WIFE, MOTHER-IN-LAW Attempts to Take Own Life; Quarrel Over Bucket of Water Blamed. By Timet Special MONDOVT, Wis., May 28.—George Waldebilllg, 24-year-old farmer, told he was “lazy” when he refused to get a pail of water, killed his wife and her mother with a shotgun, and tried to take his own life by drinking medicated alcohol. Waldeblllig was revived and taken to Alma to await arraignment on murder charges. John Cain, father-in-law of the youthful farmer, was threatened with death when he tried to wrest the gun from Waldebilllg. The older man ran to a highway with the farmer’s 1-year-old son, and a motorist drove him after assistance. “George was lying on the lawn playing with his son while Mrs. Waldebilllg was watering the flowers,” Cain said. “George told her to get it herself, and she told him he was lazy. “Waldebilllg ran into the house and returned with a shotgun. “Lucille got down on her knees and pleaded with him, but he fired. He chased Mrs. Cain through the house and shot her at the back door.” FORMER MEMBEROF STATE BOARD DEAD Word was received by E. J. Barker, secretary of the state agriculture board today of death of S. W. Taylor, 81, of Booneville, for seventeen years a member of the board. Mr. Taylor retired only two weeks ago because of ill health. Mr. Taylor formerly was a member of the state fair board and was chairman of the agricultural exhibits there. For five years he was in charge of the coliseum at state fairground. He was known widely as a breeder of Shorthorn cattle. Mr. Taylor was succeeded on the agriculture board by his brother, C. H. Taylor, also of Booneville. CITY’S ‘DO NOTHING’ PAY ROLL TO BE CUT High paid employes of the city sanitary district, who have been found doing “little or nothing,” may expect a cut in wages soon, B. J. T. Jeup, chairman of the district, declared today. In addition, Jeup declared no increases will be granted, but the wages of laborers now receiving from 40 to 50 cents an hour will not be sliced. He told members of the board that a survey now is being conducted to determine which employes will come under the “high paid, do nothing,” classification.
