500 TEMPLARS TO SEE GRAND ENCAMPMENT Hoosier Delegation to Go on Social Trains to Minneapolis. Indiana will be represented by about 500 Knights Templars at the grand encampment of the order at v-nr-napolis June 20 to 27, according to reports received ny the Indiana triennial committee. Commanders and knights in uniform, headed by the special Indiana Templar band, will form at the Minneapolis station when special trains carrying the delegates arrive on June 21 and Join the escort for the grand master with the Grand Commandery of Minnesota to attend religious services at the auditorium. Indiana Templar delegates will register at the Nicollette hotel; other knights and their ladies will register at the auditorium. Commandcrles wil be quartered at the Hotel Dyckman. Indiana Commandery to Parade Rotary, Kiwanis and other Clubs will give a luncheon June 22 for all sir knights. There will be a grand ball Tuesday night, June 23, at the auditorium for all knights and ladies. An Indiana “party" for Hoosiers and distinguished guests will be held June 22 at the Hotel Del Otero where there will be dancing, boating, games, drills and a dinner at 6:30 p. m. The great spectacular event of the triennial meeting will be a parade on Tuesday. There will be cars for Indiana Grand Commandery officers and past officers. Marching forces will be headed by a special Indiana Templar band organized by John Verweire, band master of Ft. Wayne. Ft. Wayne Band Nucleus Ft. Wayne Commandery band will be the nucleus of a sixty-piece band which will play “The Indiana Grand Commandery March,” especially arranged by Verweire and will introduce the official Indiana song, “On the Banks of the Wabash." They will -’lso play the time-honored templar song, “Onward Christian Soldiers."
Indiana headquarters will be in the Nicollette hotel where a complete list of Hoosier folk will be on fib. William W. Suckow of Frank\n who is in charge of hotel reservations announces that all reservations should be by May 10. Special train arrangements are being made by V. A. Hampton of the Northwestern road at Indianapolis offices. Chicago and Northwestern lines are co-operating with the Pennsylvania road in providing special through transportation. VAUDEVILLE WILL BE PRESENTED BY LODGE Golden Rule Order Entertainment Scheduled Wednesday Night Golden Rule lodge, No. 3, United Order of American Workers, will sponsor a vaudeville and dance in Modern Woodmen hall, 1025 Prospect street, Wednesday night. Golden Rule orchestra will furnish music for modern and old-time dancing. Vaudeville singing and dancing acts will be by Johnson's entertainers. C. D. Hill, H. G. Johnson, Elsie McClure Vorhis and E. Warner are in charge of arrangements. David C. Pyke, recently elected thrice potent master of Adoniram Grand Lodge of Perfection, Scottish Rite, is a member of Calvin W. Prather lodge, No. 717, F. & A. M., in which body he has been active in committee work. He is also a member of Oriental chapter No. 147, Royal Arch Masons, and of Murat Temple of the Mystic Shrine. '' He received the Scottish Rite degrees with the “10,000 class" in 1924. Due to his interest he was started in the official line of Adoniram Grand Lodge of Perfe;tion and has been advanced through the various chairs to the post of presiding officer. As chairman of the Marion county membership committee in 1929, when preparations were made for the dedication of the new cathedral, he was instrumental in organizing a class of 1,037 candidates. Arrangements will be made to make the new cathedral a “real home” for members and their families, with attention provided for out-state Scottish Rite Masons. Courtesies also will be extended to blue lodge members from time to time, that the ideal of the new home may be realized.

Indiana convention of Ben-Hur at Evansville Friday and Saturday will be attended by at least twenty delegates frem Indianapolis. REREKAH ORDER TO CONVENE IN I,O.JLF. HALL Business Meetings, Staff Initiation to Mark 47th Session. Forty-seventh annual session of the Rebekah Assembly, Order of Odd Fellows, will be held in the I. O. O. F. grand lodge hall, Pennsylvania and Washington streets, May 18 and 19. Grand lodge officers are preparing for the ninety-fifth semi-annual communication of the grand lodge of Indiana which will begin May 20 at 9 a. m. in the lodge hall. Business meetings of Rebekah Assembly will begin at 9 a. m. next Monday and will continue throughout the day. At 8 p. m. a sevenmember staff will confer degrees to initiates. Reception of incoming and retiring officers in the Lincoln at 8 Tuesday night will terminate the formal program of events although many members will remain in Indianapolis to go Wednesday on the annual excursion to the Odd Fellow Home at Greensburg. Grand lodge officials will preside during presentation of the decoration of chivalry at the Denison assembly room Wednesday, May 20, at 8. MASONIC DEGREES TO BE CONFERRED
Out-State Visitors to Be Guests of Royal Arch * Group. An event of importance to Capitular Masonry is scheduled for Indianapolis Saturday, Oct. 17, when Royal Arch Masons from several states will meet here and confer the' most excellent and royal arch degree. This interstate meeting will be sponsored by Marion county Royal Arch Chapter Association. Conferring of work in the degrees will be under direct supervision of Indiana grand chapter, Royal Arch Masons. At a recent meeting of the Marion county R. A. C. Association, with Troy L. Puckett of Winchester, Ind., grand high priest, and Herbert L. Graham of Elkhart, grand lecturer, plans were made for presentation of‘the work on an elaborate scale. This event is planned to exceed the state meeting, first of its kind in Indiana, which was held in October, 1930, at the Masonic temple. Carl A. Ploch of Prather chapter No. 157, ritualistic director of the state meeting, will act in ‘.he same capacity this year. Complete arrangements for accommodating a possible crowd of 6,000 have not yet been worked out. Several sites are under consideration. The place chosen will be announced later, Glenn E. Long, president of the Marion county R. a. C. Association, said today.
CATHOLICS TO HEARLECTORE K. of C. Council to Hold Meeting Tonight. Following the regular meeting of Knights of Columbus council tonight, the Rt. Rev. Monsignor Jonkheer Sehurmann de Berenbrook of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, will be guest and lecturer at an open meeting. Monsignor Sehurmann, a native of Holland, has been in Indianapolis for several weeks on a mission of education and for the benefit of his diocese in the capital territory of the Central American country. All Catholic men and women are especially invited to hear the illustrated account of the manners and costumes of the natives of Honduras. Regular monthly dinner meeting will be held in the grillroom of the K. of C. lodgerooms at 6 tonight. Buffet-bridge entertainment for knights and ladies of the order will be given Thursday, May 21. ORAK SHRINE TO RE MASON HOST Celebration Is Slated for May 23 in Laporte. By Times Special LAPORTE, Ind., May 11.—Masons and their wives from a score of northern Indiana cities will be entertained with a reception, street parade, and social program here May 23, as part of the Orak Shrine temple’s celebratiton. Details of the program, calling for events including dancing and refreshments during the evening, were announced today by Charles C. Foutz, Orak temple ambassador. Ambassadors of temples in surrounding cities will gather for the program, starting at the Masonic temple at 7 p. m., when Masons and wives of this city will form the reception committee. Leading the parade will be the Shrine band from Valparaiso and the Orak band from Hammond, followed by patrols in full uniform. K. OF C, TO CONVENE 500 Knights Expected to Attend Sessions, By Times Special RICHMOND, Ind., May 11.—Approximately 500 Knights of Columbus are expected here for the state convention on Saturday and Sunday. A house party in the K. of C. club rooms will open the convention Saturday night. Sunday morning, delegates will march in a body to St. Mary’s Catholic church, where they will attend services to be conducted by the Fathers Henry Duggin, Walter Cronin and the Father Fehlinger. At 1:30 Sunday, formal opening will take place in St. Mary’s Community house. State Deputy John O’Donnell of Bloomington will preside. State officials will be present. Ail Pythians are invited to join the nation-wide pilgrimage to Eagle Harbor, Mich., birthplace of the order, to attend the consecration and dedication of the Rathbone schoolhouse July 11. In 1859 Justus H. Rathbone finished writing the ritual still used by the Knights of Pythias. The schoolhouse in which Rathbone worked during the long winter months has been presented to the supreme lodge, which will preserve it as a shrine.

GREENE COUNTY RED MEN LODGE IN MEMORIAL White River Tribe in Charge of Observance of Famous Sachem. Red Men of Greene county will hold a Saint Tamina observance Tuesday night at Worthington. This meeting will be in charge of White River tribe. No. 91, assisted by members of Yemasee council, No. 177, degree of Pocahontas. Great Senior Sagamore Irvin Pryor cf Worthing, active member of both tribe and council, will preside. A suitable program has been arranged as a memorial to St. Tamina, famous sachem of the Delawares. Improved Order cf Red Men grew from the original St. Tamir.a society and the Sons of Liberty. Principal address will be given by Great Chief of Records Arch Hobbs of Indianapolis, who will speak on the history of the order. Talk on observance of Mothers’ day by Great Sachem Russell Evans will be followed by an address by Great Pocahontas Bessie Meadows of Wolcott. Musical numbers have been arranged. Tribes and councils of Linton, Bloomfield. Owensburg, Jasonville, Koleen, Solsberry and Doans are invited to participate. A large crowd is expected.
