SEVEN P. T. A. CLUBS TO MEET TO NAME HEADS School Associations Will Gather for Annual Elections. Members of seven Indianapolis Parent-Teacher associations will elect officers at meetings Wednesday afternoon. Annual elections wiil be held at Schools 83, 1, 21, 46, 73. 51 and 35. P. T. A. meetings scheduled: P T A of School 83 will meet at 3 Wednesday Mrs. Lennle Lyles, president of the association, will speak. The program wll be Riven bv children and parents. Officers will be elected. Massed Mothers* chorus will rehearse at 1:30 Monday In the auditorium of Technical high school. Mrs. Laura Steffen New will sneak on "China and G'asware at School 76 at 2:30 Wedr.esdav. She also will ezhlbtt Interesting examples of this art. In addition, there will be music by the children’s oichestra.s and choruses. Paul Stetson, superintendent of schools, will speak for the P. T. A. meeting of School 53 st 310 Wednesday, a play wll be given by the 2A. 3B and 3A classes. The music will be furnished by members of the orßanlzatlon. Members of P. T. A. School 1, will be entertained with a musical program at 230 Wednesday. Musical exercise by pupils of the second grade, sor.ga by mothers’ chorus, violin solo by Fred Smith, saxaphone solo by Paul Wtllman. piano solo by Ivan Elwood and song by mothers’ chorus are shceduled. There will be an election of officers and social hour with seventh grade mothers entertaining _P--T. A. of School 21 will meet at 2:30 Wednesday. The program will consist of a playlet given bv 28. 2A grades and 60*0 bv Mrs. Charles Noble. There will be an election of officers followed by a tea. Election of officers at the P.-T. A. of School 48 will be held at 2:30 Wednesday. Mothers* chorus and the Girls’ Glee Club will furnish the program for the P.-T. A. meeting of School 73 at 2.30 Wednesday. Election of officers will be held. Following are the members of the nominating committee of the Federation of Mothers’ choruses of the Indianapolis Public schools: Mrs. F. W. Whltacker. chorus. School 84: Mrs. R. T. Milburn. chorus. School 58: Mrs. Oscar Jones, chorus. School 30; Mrs. L. ,A. Miller, chorus. School 72. and Mrs. H. L Stcnger, chorus. School 62. Election of officers at the P. T. A. meeting of School 51 will be held at 2:30 Wednesday. P. T. A. of School 35 will meet at 2:30 Wednesday Program wil consist of piano music by Marie Haynes and Martha white and vocal music by Imogene Kirby and Dorothy Skaggs. There will be an election of officers and a candv sale conducted by rooms 9. 10. 11 and 12. Mrs. Logan G. Hughes will be the speaker for the P. T. A. of School 30. The meeting will be held at 3:15 Wednesday. Mra. Hughes will talk on Girl Reserves. Special musical program will be followed bv a social hour aranged by the teachers. Mrs. Clayton Ridge, president of the Indianapolis Parent-Teacher Federation, is attending the National P. T. A. convention at Hot Springs. Ark.
EAGLES NAME AMIGA New President Will Be Installed June 1. Installation of Robert G. Amick, president of Indianapolis Eagles aerie, and of other officers chosen at the annual election Monday night, will be conducted June 1. Officers to be installed are James J, Ross Jr., vice-president; Clarence Currens, chaplain; Wilbur H. Miller, secretary; Jacob L. Smith, treasurer; Edward Kegeris, conductor, John J. Pfarr, inside guard; Fred J. Snyder, trustee, and Dr. Robert Owen, physician. Secretary Miller will serve his eighth consecutive term. J. Pierce Cummings, general chairman of Mother’s day ceremonies at English’s, has called a final meeting of all committees for 7:30 p. m. Thursday, to which members are invited. Women's auxiliary at its meeting tonight will complete plans for its share in Mother’s day activities. Mrs. Mary Williams is president. DIES IN FIRE RESCUE Grandfather, 72, Pays With Life to Save Boy, 6. Su United Press CHICAGO. May s.—Six-year-old Joseph Logsdon was in critical condition today, suffering injuries sustained in a fire in which his grandfather, Charles Logsdon, 72, gave his life trying to save him. The child and his grandfather were left alone while Joseph’s parents were away. Police said Joseph apparently set fire to the basement accidentally. The grandfather, rushing to his aid, was overcome by smoke and was dead when firemen found him. Joseph was unconscious, but physicians said he had a chance to recover.
