$36,000 IS IN JEWISH FUND BEFORE DRIVE Samuel Rauh Makes Speech by Phone Amplifier From Bedside. Although the Jewish Welfare Fund campaign Is not scheduled to begin until May 8. the rolls already show subscriptions totaling $38,000. Donations reaching this figure were made at a dinner Thursday night at the Broadmoor Country Club launching the campaign, receipts of which will be divided among seventy institutions. A surprise feature of the dinner was the address made by Samuel E. Rauh, Indianapolis capitalist and philanthropist and honorary drive chairman, from his bed in the Methodist hospital. The address was brought to the banquet by a special telephone and amplification arrangement through the courtesy of the Indiana Bell Telephone Company. Rauh urged the necessity of cooperation in order to make the drive a success. Program at the banquet was broadcast to his bedside through a special arrangement. Rabbi Morris M.
