pilot of the Cleveland-Chicago division, and his co-pilot, Alien McDiarmid. Taylor, who once before landed twelve passengers safely when his three motors went dead, was suffering from a possible skull fracture, a broken left ankle and head lacerations. McDiarmid had possible internal injuries and face lacerations. Three passengers were injured slightly in the crash which destroyed the tri-motored plane. They are J H. Fisher, Cleveland; William Webber, New York, and P. G. Gadcnbesch. New York. Miss Z. Taylor, New York; Suey Welch, Akron (O.) boxing promoter; Gorilla Jones, Akron (O.) boxer, and L. Gorgon, address unknown, escaped without injury. James Wallace and Harold Leonard were working in a field about five miles from here, they told officials, when they noticed the plane circling around. The center motor had stopped, the left one was miss-
ing fire, and the third was running wide open, they said. When the craft was about sev-enty-five feet from the ground it struck a tree and the left wing was torn off, causing the plane to nosedive. It struck the ground, rolled over twice and stopped against the side of a barn, with one of its motors torn off. The passengers went into Cleveland, where Webber, Gadenbesch 'and Miss Taylor took a plane for New York. The others spent the night in Cleveland before continuing to their destinations.' “Follies Bergcre" for Broadway i U;i United Press NEW YORK. FRANCE MOVES TO BLOCK 'RED' DISTURBANCES Expulsion Is Ordered for Participants in May Demonstration. BY RALPH HEINZEN United Press Staff Correspondent * PARIS, April 30.—The government hastened today to block Communist May day disturbances with more severe repressive methods than Jiave been enforced in recent years. Premier Pierre Laval ordered troops to join poiiee in maintaining order. Display of red flags,
parades or meetings were prohibited. The government said that all foreigners ’participating in efforts to hold such meetings would be expelled from France at once. Mobile guards and troops arrived from nearby rural provinces. Jean Chiappe, prefect of the police for Paris, will have at his disposition tomorrow 20,000 police, republican guards and soldiers. Government officials do not expect any major disturbance. Every year since the war, May day has seen a diminished manifestation by extremists. With unemployment started in France, this May day will likely see few workers take a chance on losing their jobs by quitting work for the day. However, the Communists, through their newspaper. Humanite, invited militants to defy the police order and to gather at their headquarters in the Rue Des Granges Aux Belles. The police have made elaborate arrangements to apprehend thc “Eyes of Moscow.” envoys allegedly sent from Russia to lead French
