EATON AGAIN IS ! MADE DIRECTOR OF SHEET-TUBE Rumors of Possible Defeat Crushed With Election by Stockholders. J9y United Press YOUNGSTOWN, 0.. April 28. Cyrus 8. Eaton and three associates who opposed the Youngstown Sheet and Tube-Bethlehem Steel merger, today were re-elected to the board of directors of the $220,000,000 Youngstown concern. The meeting, the annual session of stockholders and directors was brief, re-electing Eaton, S. Livingston Mather, Hugh B. Wick and George Brainard, who had been consigned by rumors for removal. Reports that Eaton and his associates would be dropped from the board grew out of the financier’s withdrawal from active management of Continental Shares, Inc., and subsequent rumors that negotiations had been revived for a merger of Sheet and Tube with Bethlehem Steel on anew basis. The only change in the board personnel was the election of Fred Tod to replace John Tod, who is absent on vacation. Only thirtyfive stockholders were present. After the balloting was completed, it was announced that the vote cast was unanimous. The procedure was of the simplest routine and completed within fifteen minutes. Eaton was not presen at the meeting, but his associates attended. Other directors re-elected today were: John W. Ford, Richard Garlick, H. G. Dalton, T. J. Bray, John L. Severance, James A. Campbell, present chairman, and Frank Purnell, president. TROUT FISHING DATES ADVANCED IN CANADA Fine Catches Already Reported; Mild Winter Cause.
