To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law. To help other people at all times. To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight. ''This is the Oath of the Boy Scouts of America.* A mighty army of boys, not only in America, but all over the world, is marching toward better citizenship, under the banner of the Boy Scouts. ! In this day of turmoil and fever heat—in this hour of political and moral crisis, we realize the value and steadying influence of a movement so great and vital. Judge James Austin, of Toledo, Ohio, in a recent statement to the leaders of his community, says: “In my four years in this office, I passed upon the cases of 15,000 juvenile delinquents. Os that large number, ONLY THREE, ever had been identified directly or indirectly with the Boy Scouts.’’

PARENTS, THINK IT OVER! Are you good Scout Masters in your Own Home? Are you interested enough in your Boy or Girl to know which organization they are identified with? Do you take an active interest in their welfare, or do you expect others to train them for you? Can you earnestly take the oath mentioned above, as a Parent, with your obligation to our coming generation? It is an indisputable fact that organizations like the Boy or Girl Scouts, Y. M. C. A. and Y. W. C. A., are great agencies for the prevention of vice and crime, and are constantly sowing the seeds of Good Citizenship and Upright Character. Could YOU honestly and truly repeat this oath? Could YOU faithfully live up to it? Could YOU be a good Scout? / PARENTS, THINK IT OVER!
