GLASS TO MEET ON EASTER AT ZARING THEATER t Christian Men Builders Expect 2,000 Attendance Sunday Morning. Because the fclassroom of the Christian Men Builders of the Third Christian church is too small to accommodate the 2,000 men who are expected to attend Easter Sunday morning, the class will meet at the Zaring theater. This is made possible through the courtesy of A. C. Zaring, owner of the theater. It is expected that the attendance Sunday will be the largest in the eighteen years’ history of the class. The average attendance for the Christian Men Builders so far this year averages 775 per Sunday. Merle Sidener, the teacher, will speak on “Just Another Life,” which will cieal with the story of the Resurrection of Jesus. A pageant, produced under the direction of Ed Palmer, will be given. It will depict various periods of the life of Christ. The Oelin quartet will furnish the music. The entire program will be broadcast over WFBM at 9:30 a. m. a a a INTERESTING SERVICE IN ANNOUNCED The men’s Bible class of the West Park Christian church will observe Easter with services Sunday morning. S3 n a CHRISTIAN SCIENCE THEME ANNOUNCED “Unreality” is the subject of the Lesson-Sermon in al Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, April 5 ; Among the citations which comprise the Lesson-Sermon is the following from the Bible: Lay not up tor yourseve< treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also (Matt. 6:19-21). The Lesson-Sermon also includes the following passages from the Christian Science textbok, “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures,” by Mary Baker Eddy: Darkness and chaos are the imaginary opposites of light, understanding. and eternal harmony, and they are the elements of nothingness. We admit that black is not a color, because it reflects no light. So evil should be denied identity or power, because it has none of the divine hues. Paul says: ‘'For the invisible things of Him, from the creation of the world, are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made” (Romans i. 20). CROPS IMPROVE! RAINS RELIEVE DROUGHT AREA Farmers in Five States See Conditions Improve With Rainfall. Bv Science Service WASHINGTON. April 4.—Recent widespread rains have improved crop conditions in the country generally and made the situation more favorable for farmers in North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia than it has been since the period of prolonged drought, reports received by the United States weather bureau here indicate. Rains along the Atlantic have been sufficiently heavy to replenish the subsoil in many districts where it had been dangerously depleted. In the south rains have been excessive, retarding field work. Light rains in the Ohio valley region have improved top soil conditions, but more rain is needed for safety, as the subsoil still is dry. Even with the last rains, the state of Ohio had only two-thirds of its normal rainfall for March, following an abnormally dry year, so that a moderate drought during the coming weeks would be quickly felt. The need of rain is most acutely felt in the spring wheat belt, however. Here several years of drought have exhausted the deep subsoil moisture and the top soil is dry, making the situation potentially dangerous. This region, embracing North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana, has not received sufficient rains recently to alleviate the critical condition.
