FILLING STATION PERMIT DENIED Protests Block Project on North Side. Protests of residence property owners blocked efforts of Cicero Disher to obtain permission to erect a gasoline filling station on the northeast corner of Forty-sixth and Tllinois streets Tuesday afternoon before the board of zoning appeals The board voted against the petition, despite the fact another filling station is located on the southeast corner of the intersection. The Butler-Fairvlew Civic Association vhs represented among remonstrators Petition of Norman A. Zolezzi to enlarge an automobile service station on the old Shortridge high school grounds, Michigan and Pennsylvania streets, was denied. Petitions approved included Em- j '■■rson theater, 4630 East Tenth I street, to erect ornamental marquee over the entrance; Burnet-Binford Lumber Company, 1362 Eugene street, to erect an addition to a mill building, and Frank E. Coilman, to erect a storeroom and warehouse at, 1829 Belief ontaine street. Action was delayed until April 15 on the Fletcher American Company’s petition, as trustees, to intall 61.000 gallons capacity gasoline tanks at Twenty-ninth and Elmira streets. ADVERTISING COMPANY TO MOVE FROM CITY \filli* Firm to go to Chicago With Most of Employes. Arrangements were being made today by the Millis Advertising company to move its executive offices and the greater part of its sev-enty-five employes from Indianapolis to Chicago July 1. A branch sales office will be located In New York. Decision to make the removal was reached at a meeting of the directorate Tuesday. The company has been operating from Indianapolis for more than ten years although practically all of its business is conducted in New York and Chicago, It. E. Same to be made payable to the Treasurer of the Town of Speedway and guaranteeing that said bidder will enter into a contract within five days after being notified of the acceptance of his bid. The Town of Speedway reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to judge the character o r the work propoced and the qualifications of the bidder to do such work. Bidding blanks, 'fan and specifications are on file with the Clerk of the Town of Speedway and the bidders are e>nected to examine the same before submitting their bids. Bids shall be made unon forms furnished by the Town of Speedway. The bidder to whom the contract may be awarded will be required to furnish a bond in the full amount of his contract and approved bv the Board of Trustees, guaranteeing the completion of the contract and faithful performance of anv material or work Installed by him.
