RECOUNT MAKES 0.0. P. HOUSE MORE DOUBTFUL Pennsylvania Democrat Is Believed Elected in New Returns. By Scrippg-Haward Xetcepaper Alliance WASHINGTON, March 11.— Speaker Nicholas Longwcrth’s chances of succeeding himself in the next congress were further jeopardized today with news of an election recount in Pennsylvania which now indicates the choice of a Democrat instead of a Republican, as originally announced. An upset in this district would make the division in the house 217 Democrats, 216 Republicans, one Farmer-Laborite and one vacancy in tha district to which the late Henry Allen Cooper, Wisconsin Progressive Republican, had been elected. The election returns Indicated that Congressman William R. Coyne. Republican of Be‘J>lehem, had be'sti elected by about Buo votes. „ mer Congressman Everett Kent, Democrat, of Bangor, contested the result, alleging fraud. The votes in eight ballot boxes were impounded and the count now being completed shows Kent in the lead by more than 100 votes.
