recognized those ready to fight against raising the gasoline tax from 2 to 4 cents, the financial basis of his plan. The next move is up to the legislature, on which he has been waiting more than two weeks, the Governor said. La Follette revealed that before he entered office he had settled upon this plan to relieve the “immediate emergency” by packing a normal three-year program of grade crossing removal work into the current year. He estimated that fifty men could be employed on each job by working two shifts, and the enlarged program of removals includes some ninety crossings. A replica of the Indiana state flag will be hung in the American Episcopal cathedral in Paris, France, Sunday, Washington’s birthday. Design of the Indiana flag was sent to France by the Indiana Society of Colonial Dames, as a result of a communication from Mrs. Jesse Janes Garrison, who, on a visit to Paris with Professor Garrison and Dr. and Mrs. Fletcher Hodges, noticed that Indiana was: not represented among flags of the states in the cathedral.
