The United States navy, aware of the danger, is remodelling many of its planes to avoid the hazard of sudden suffocation of its pilots. The navy acted after an investigation of the death of Captain Arthur C. Page, whose plane crashed as he was rounding a pylon at the National Air Race last fall. Whether Captain Page was poisoned by gas or whether his plane was defective mechanically has not been established, but It is thought possible that monoxide, swept Into nfs cockpit by the rush of air, may have had much to do with his death.
