LAUNDRY'S CARE EQUAL TO THAT OF HOUSEWIFE Only Pure Soap and Clean, Soft Water Used in Modern Plant. That no home Is well enough equipped to compete with the modem laundry in getting clothes clean generally Is admitted. However, many persons have the erroneous opinion that clothes will not receive as careful handling at the laundry as in the home. That idea makes the modem laundryman chuckle, but a lot of folks still believe it. From the time the family wash enters the modem laundry until it is delivered, it actually is handled more carefully, with less liability to injury, than it can be in the home. Housewives may see for themselves if they will take the time to visit the Pilgrim laundry, 1039 Cornell avenue, where all the modem conveniences will be explained to them. Reputation Is Important Contrary to most folks’ ideas, just good soap and water get tilings clean in this laundry. LAW STUDENTS GIVEN PRACTICE Training Includes Visits to Courts of City. For thirty-six years the Indiana law school, 143 East Ohio street, has been preparing students for the practice of their profession. This school, with a faculty of fourteen prominent attorneys of this city, has enjoyed a high enrollment the last two years, more than 150 students having been enrolled, as against about 100 a year for several years previously. The school is unique in that it makes its training very practical by resorting to the courts of the city for demonstrations of the actual practice of law. Following the system of instruction advocated by the Association of American law schools, and with a library fully equipped for the need of the school, it makes a regular practice of holding all its classes in the mornings, giving students the opportunity to work either at means of livelihood or in the study of actual court proceedings in the afternoon. The course runs for three years, leading to the degree of bachelor of laws. The school terms run from the; third Wednesday in September to | the Wednesday following June 't' each year. Its tuition fee Is exceedingly moderate, payable in three installments. Thus it affords the opportunity for young men of limited means to secure a thoroughly practical education in the principles and practice of law, which opportunity has been taken advantage of by hundreds of attorneys since the school's opening thirty-six years ago. Writers have deplored the fact that the old fashioned machinist who could go to work on any machine was extinct, declaring that the modern tendency to specialization had stopped the training required to make a real machinist. This may be true in the sense that every man who operates a machine now is not able to care for it, but the larger amount of really complicated machinery that is kept in continuous operation shows clearly that there are as good machinists as ever. The further fact that these machines exist In thousands of towns and cities shows that there must be a considerable number of men competent to service them. These writers have lost sight of the very fact they are so vigorous in deploring—that machinist work, like all others, is becoming more and more specialized. The man who operates a machine does not need to know how to repair it if by calling on a telephone he can secure the services of a man who can do that work with greater certainty and in half the time. It is in such establishments as
