(WIFE'S BUNION MAY CAUSE HER TO THROW POTS Podiatrist Says Sore Feet ¥ May Be Reason for Many Divorces. The common garden variety of a bunion may become the world's best divorce soil. Its cherubic countenance on the big dorsal may -be the cause of pot-throwing wives, and prospective bridegrooms in a few years may couch their pre-nuptial words with Sweetheart, tell me before I marry you, have you a bunion?’’ For today at the second session of she annual convention of the Indiana Association of Podiatrists In the Lincoln the “cussedness” of the bunion was explained by Dr. Dan E. Tucker, Indianapolis, president of s he Indiana state board of podiatry. Urges Operation "Bunions cause nervousness. They cause women to become fidgety and if they throw pots and pans it may be because they’ve a bunion or some < minor foot ailment," he said. Nor did the doctor quit with this indictment of the bunion popularized by "Cash and Carry’’ Pyle in his derbies for he declared that both bunions and corns were more prevalent now than twenty years ago. But through the advances made in his profession he asserted that ' ‘bunion’’ operations would be discussed at women’s bridge clubs with as much gusto as "the last appendicitis operation." ‘‘They’ll be proud to talk about their removal and not blush and speak in whispers if they have one,” be said. Choose Right Shoes He estimated 65 per cent of the bunion sufferers were women, with the male sex taking the short end of the ailment’s statistics. “Footwear according to your work,” was urged by the podiatrists. A bunion operation was performed at the convention’s morning session by Dr. E. W. Cordingley of Clinton, Ind. , Seventy-eight podatriasts of the state are attending the convention. The association plans to urge the establishment of a chair of podiatry at Indiana university. Lectures and clinics will close the t convention* Tuesday.
