LAUNDRY SAVES WOMEN FROM NEEDLESS TASK Time Wasted Over Washtub by Housewives Held Economic Loss. For a half century women in America have made great progress. From their present position in the world of affairs it hardly seems possible that old idea of women being confined to household tasks ever held sway. Nor does it 6eem possible that the thought women never could make a success in business life prevailed. Perhaps the only reason these two ideas ever got the hold upon the public they did was because the work in the household had to be done, and there was no other way to do than by hand labor. So women, with their adaptability, had to do it Sow much the world in days gone by lost through this remains to be seen. Surely no one could measure it now. But one thing has been established pretty definitely now—that women’s brains are too valuable to allow them to waste theii time over a washtub. It is too great an economic loss, to say nothing of the physical strain. The woman who does her washing these days must underestimate her value to the world greatly. Laundries are so much better equipped to do the family washing; they do the washing itself so much better, and the clothing and other articles actually look cleaner and wear better, that it really is more of a waste than easily is apparent to try to do such work at home. The care taken in the modern laundry is so great, the cleanliness so superb, and the labor saving sc, marked, that women all over the city are sending their weekly wash to the Best-Grand Laundry, which has several methods of doing the family wash. Clothes may be simply washed and rough dried, or they may be completely ironed, and there are plans by which work may be done just so far as desired. In fact, this laundry is ready and willing to free women from drudgery just to the extent the women desire. The work of the laundry unquestionably is excellent, and women are invited to use its facilities to the utmost for their own comfort. Prompt collection and delivery are made in response to telephone calls over RI 2555.
SPRING WATER ACTS AS TONIC Service Given by City Firm Easily Obtained. No one yet has been able to find definitely what it is in good spring water that is so beneficial to health. There is something elusive about it. Analyses show that the water is good, perhaps with no indication of medicinal virtues. Yet when individuals make a practice of drinking this water they become springier in step, clearer of eye and more buoyant in their mental attitude. This thing happens so often that it is not questioned, even if cause is not understood fully. That is one of the reasons why so many Indianapolis business concerns and private residences have rented the service offered by the Crystal Springs Water Company, 146 Virginia avenue. Tiis service consists of specially arj .nged Frigidaire coolers kept Allied with the well-known Crystal Springs water; and dispensed through Burt paper drinking cups. The Ostermeyer Paper Company, 148 • Virginia avenue, controls the Crystal Springs Water Company, offering its service in conjunction with its business in paper cups. It is the exclusive Frigidaire water cooler distributer in Indianapolis, the exclusive agent for the Burt paper cups and Sanitex toilet paper. A. C. Ostermeyer is president of the company, which has been operating in this city for twelve years. A fleet of six trucks make its deliveries.
