William Kuhn, 23, wealthy broker’s clerk, who had access to Gold Coast drawing rooms, and wfcs charged with writing threatening letters to and society debutante, has filed a SIOO,OOO damage suit against the girl who accused him. Charges that Kuhn wrote to Marion Wright, with whom he had “danced, threatening to kill her with poison darts if money was not given him. were dismissed Wednesday. The state asked dismissal after >t was revealed that Miss Wright had received more of the threatening letters while Kuhn was in custody and could not have written f hem. C. Wayland Brooks, attorney representing Kuhn, declared the dis- * missal was proof of Kuhn’s contention that the charges were 'ridiculous and unjust,” and that it was “no more than right” that those who had kept Kuhn '‘under ■ a cloud of suspicion for two months” should pay for it. Besides Miss Wright, who made her debut a few nights after Kuhn was arrested, several others were named as defendants. They were her father, William Van Doren Wright, wealthy steel company official; Alexander Jamie, chief investigator for the “Secret Six” crime •commission; Edgar Dudley, another investigator, aiV* Ferdinand Watzek, crime expert at Northwestern university. The charges were made against Kuhn after an Investigation by the "Secret Six.” Wright had appealed to the commission after his daughter received five of the letters.

With increased Democratic strength imperiling Speaker Nicholas Longworth’s position, the question of future ownership of the automobile which the government furnishes to the presiding officer of the house has long been a favorite joke among Republican and Democratic congressmen. Now Representative Telman B. Parks, above, of Arkansas, proposes to solve the problem by having the car sold to swell the -national fund for drought relief. He has introduced a resolution embodying that plan.

A few weeks ago police began suspecting that Yellow Kid had been “kidding” them again. A man in Michigan, another in Wisconsin and one in Illinois reported losing money in a manner that reminded the officers of Weil.
