Officials of State to Be Club Guests The State Assembly Women’s Club will hold its opening banquet Mon<lay night In the Riley room at the Claypool. Dr. Allen Diehl Albert, Chicago, will speak. The banquet Is for members of the club, state officers and legislators. Governor Harry G. Leslie and Mrs. Leslie will be honor guests. Mrs. William r. Hodges, Gary, club president, will preside. During the dinner hour, the Bulck fJio will play. Mrs. Christine Michels, Anderson, contralto, will be guest artist. Mrs. Michels, formerly of Cleveland, was a member of the 'rtafT of radio station WTAM. This is her first appearance In Indianapolis. Violinist on Program Miss Lorlnda Cottingham, violinist, and Earl Stockney, tenor, also will appear on the program. Mrs. F, K. Ruick arranged the musical program. Mrs. James M. Ogden Is program committee chairman. Arrangements for the banquet are in charge of Mrs. Frederick E. Shortemeier, assisted by Mesdames Roy Street, Lafayette; Elam Guernsey, Bedford; William Storen. Scottsburg; Julia Nelson, Fred Byers, and Charles F. Miller. Decorations will carry out the club colors, gold and purple. The small tables will be centered with clusters of gold calendulas tied with bows of purple tulle, and the speakers' table will have a long plateau of calendulas and purple flowers as a centerpiece, with candelabrae holiday gold tapers at each end. Branch to Entertain The Indianapolis branch of the state organization will have charge of the opening luncheon of the State Assembly Women's Club, Wednesday. Camp Fire Girls’ Activities
The new Camp Fire group at the George Washington high school met Thursday afternoon at the school. Officers elected were: President, Credella Campbell; vice-president, Marguerite Otto; secretary. Sadie Mason; treasurer. Edith Hooser. and scribe, Edna Rackley. The group has divided into two sections for a membership campaign. At the close of this the losers will entertain the winners with a party. Miss Helen L. Nichols, executive secretary, is meeting with the group. The extension committee will meet in the Camp Fire office at 10 a. m. Tuesday. Mrs. R. L. Kaylor is chairman. Other members of the committee: Mrs. R. A. Love, Mrc. W. C. Richter, Mrs. Charles H.
