SKILL REQUIRED IN REMOVAL OF FENDER DENTS ' * Cost of Repairing Damaged Autos Is Reduced by Efficient. Work. Taking the kinks out of damaged bodies and ironing out the twists in damaged fenders requires skill. Let any man who has tried to straighten out a dent in his own car testify to this. It is interesting to visit the Automobile service Corporation, 634 North Capitol avenue, and watch the skilled workmen there bring out beauty in a car that has been in a severe wreck. To the eye of the inexperienced it looks like an almost hopeless job, but these men, who have been doing this kind of work for years, know just what to do. They go about it with the confidence born of experience and with amazing celerity. Their work really is remarkable. It is done so quickly and so systematically that the cost of doing what seems an impossible job is surprisingly low. Employes Efficient Those motorists whose cars have bent fenders and dented bodies, wrenched doors and damaged tops would do well to visit this place and learn how little it will cost to put the damaged car into such shape that no apologies are necessary. The Automobile Service Corporation has twenty employes who know their business thoroughly. Warner G. Witt is treasurer, John K. Bryan is secretary and Carl J. Laufer, foreman. Laufer had complete charge of the General Motors shop here for four years and for six years was in charge of the service department. He is completely competent to take charge of any line of work in respect to body and top repair, or any other detail of renovating the damaged car. Open Day and Night The company is open twenty-four hours a day and seven days in the week. It has a wrecker and road service department that responds promptly to any call of distress from the motorist who finds himself in trouble. Motorists may write in for courtesy card; which will be given away free, and which can be used in case of road trouble. The Automobile Service Corporation has the official Bendix brake service, with the latest machines and devices for properly adjusting brakes. Good brakes are especially fundamental with the icy and slippery weather during the winter months. SEEK NEW PROCEDURE Superior Court Judges Request Aid of City Lawyers. CLEAN STORAGE IS FEATURED BY FIRM

Warehouse Company Keeps Up Constant Warfare Against Moths. Since its foundation more than thirty-five years ago by the former mayor, Lew Shank, deceased, the Shank storage business, 1430 North Illinois street, has become an institution to a great many persons of this city. Conducted now on the same plans that made it successful in her husband’s lifetime, Mrs. Shank maintains Its popularity, and with it operates a truck line using twenty vans for moving goods anywhere. ♦There are several features about the Shank fireproof warehouse that are different. One is the extreme cleanliness, in which Mrs. Shank carries out her former housekeeping ideas. The place is cleaned thoroughly once each week. Second, like most good housewives, Mrs. Shank maintains an incessant warfare against moths. It is, as she has expressed herself, no

Service Is Keynote of Towel Supply Company

Business of Renting Linens Has Grown Greatly in Firm’s 26 Years. Twenty-six years catering to the business houses of central Indiana in the furnishing of towels, office coats, white coats and trousers, aprons, etc., is a record that definitely establishes the company giving it has been giving real service. That is the length of time the Frank Selmier Towel Supply Company has been in business. The service consists of the rental of a great number of supplies in the line of towels, professional coats, white trousers and coats, gray coats, aprons of all kinds, caps, tablecloths and tops, napkins and chair covers and supplies of a kindred nature, * The business has grown until it uses eleven trucks for delivery through central Indiana and employs more than fofxy persons. This growth Frank Selmier, secretary and treasurer and general manager of the company, likes to think is a result of his endeavors to give real service. The company maintains a regular delivery to its patrons furnishing them with sufficient supplies to last until the next call, and the spirit of the place is well portrayed by the inscription on all of the printed matter, “Kindly suggest how we can improve our service.” The company is located at 710 East Michigan street, with telephone Riley 9381.

FIRE LOSS CUT BY SPRINKLERS Blaze Subdued at Start by Automatic Device. The groat Bush terminal in New York harbor has met one of the hazards of modem warehousing most successfully in its handling of fire prevention. In nineteen years it has had 259 hres, with a total loss of less than SI,OOO for*all of them. More than 200 acres of floor space is protected by 125,003 automatic sprinklers in this great entei*prise. Not a single one of the 300 tenants ever has suffered any interruption of business on account of lire. Robert Adamson, while fire commissioner of New York, said: “The automatic sprinkler is the best mechanical device yet perfected for extinguishing fires. The records of this department show that there has never been a loss of life where sprinklers were installed.” The Indianapolis Automatic Sprinkler Company, 702 East Market street, insists that the man in ousiness today is paying for the automatic sprinkler system whether he has it or not, in insurance premiums. This company will extend, alter or repair any system, and it installs Viking sprinklers.

disgrace for a storage warehouse to get moths. They may come in with the next receipt of goods. But it is, as Mrs. Shank regards it, a disgrace to keep them. So the warehouse is fumigated every week to make life miserable for the pests, and with all the thoroughness of a good housekeeper the moths are run down and exterminated. But as a special protection there is a vault provided for draperies, furs, and similar articles, that goes still further. It Is near moth-proof as it can be made. Also it practically is burglar-proof, even to having a tear gas arrangement ready for the unlucky thief who might get the door open. Safety deposit boxes are provided for the storage of specially valuable things. Special storage rooms, kept at the right degree of heat and humidity, are provided for pianos. The woman who has goods to store will appreciate all these precautions, for with them goes the knowledge that her goods will not be lost or damaged while in storage.

SHOP PROVIDES EFFICIENT WORK Sheeb Metal Firm Backed by Long Experience. This city and the adjoining country have many evidences of the skill and workmanship of the Joseph Gardner Sheet Metal shop throughout the territory. No job is too large for this wellequipped shop and no job is too small to get the kind of treatment it should have when this shop is asked to do it. Anything in sheet metal work is done here, and the concern will contract for work of any kind that requires the installation of sheet metal. Behind the business is fortyeight years’ experience. To the man who needs it, this in itself is the best kind of help. Many people know what they want without knowing just how to go about it, and here this big fund of information that so many years have brought is of great value. So it would seem that in the erection of tanks, metal roofing, warm air pipes, ventilating devices and a hundred or so other uses to which sheet metal of different kinds is being put in this busy world, it would be a wise course to call up the Gardner company, phone Riley 1562, or to visit the place at 147-153 Kentucky avenue, where a number of men are employed, and get really expert knowledge and good service. Bank Robbery Case Set By Times Special NEWCASTLE, Ind„ Jan. 6. BUILDING FIRM OFFERS PUBLIC VARIEDSERVICE Sound Advice and Financing Included in Details of Construction. There comes to be a personality about a business in the course of time. That personality is sort of an accretion of the experiences of the company, plus the character of its executives, and with the knack of getting along with people and getting things done. Some men have the ingredients of this personality naturally; others never acquire it. A place where it is manifest in daily transactions is the Ostrom Realty and Construction Company, 134 East Market street. This company builds all kinds of structures, small and large, all over the middle west —or any place else, for that matter—and has had a fair share of success in the undertakings. Where the personality comes in is the actual desire of these men to help a man get what he should have in his building. In other words, the atmosphere of the place, one sadly lacking in many such concerns, Is that of helpfulness. Good Judgment Used The Ostrom staff carries this as far as good business will allow. They claim the ability to plan, finance and arrange all details connected with construction and maintenance. Others do that, too, but still there is something more. Henry E. Ostrom of the company perhaps expressed it well when he said, in an interview a year ago: “We still feel that our best inducement to our customer is our long established responsibility and the personal, intelligent and sympathetic co-operation which our company aims to give each customer in creating what he desires in anew building, so long as it conforms to good business judgment.” Personnel Experienced That is the expression of the personality that marks this business—intelligent and sympathetic helpfulness. Backed by ample resources, in a position to finance the structure within any sound business limit, qualified by a personnel that knows its business, and with a fine reputation to tie to, the Ostrom Realty and Construction Company is in a position to serve and serve well. It is officered by Henry E. Ostrom, president; Felix M. McWhirter, treasurer, and Susan M Ostrom, vice-president and secretary.
