Department Club Will Hear Bailey ' Bookplates" will be discussed by L J. Bailey at the Joint meeting es the art and literature departments of the Woman's Department Club, at 2:30 Monday. Bailey, state librarian for the last five years, is making a special collection of Indiana bookplates for the state of Indiana. He is a member of the American. Belgian and English societies of bookplate collectors and has in his collection of over four thousand bookplates a recut from the plate of George Washington, one of Meredith Nicholson by Franklin Booth, one sent to him personally by Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford and several by the internationally known artist, Bruce Rogers. A number of Bailey s bookplates, together with those owned by members of the club, will be exhibited. A musical program arranged by Mrs. M. F. Conner will b? furnished by members of the Butler Glee Club. Miss Pearl Goodman will sing, accompanied by Miss Virginia Harbough. Miss Harbaugh also will play a piano solo. Mrs. Charles M. Clayton and Mrs. Ronald Foster will be hostesses for the Christmas tea following the program. Robinson, chairman of exhibits for the art department, announces that the December exhibit in the clubhouse will consist of etchings by the following Indiana artists: Mrs. Evelyn Mess, John Courtney Sandefur, L. O. Griffith and Frederick Policy. The Ten O’clock Club will meet with Mrs. H. B. Burnet, 4417 North Pennsylvania street. Wednesday morning. A tour to the Indianapolis municipal airport will be made by members of the Community Welfare department Wednesday afternoon. The tour is the result of an invitation extended to members by Paul H. Moore, city airport superintendent- in a recent talk before the department. Moore stated that Colonel Charles A. Lindbergh and Captain Eddie RickenL„_!:-v conceded the Indianapolis municipal airport to be one of the finest airport sites in the United States. Mrs. Christian Olsen, department chairman, appointed the following committee on arrangements: Mrs. W. J. Slate, chairman, Mrs. Othniel Hitch. Mrs. R. B. Wilson and Mrs Philip A. Keller. Cars will leave the clubhouse promptly at 1:30. Members are urged to furnish cars for the four. Reservations for the tour may be made with any member of the committee.

Seventh annual municipal Christmas concert sponsored by Beta Beta alumnae of Alpha Chi Omega will be held at noon Dec. 20 at Christ church. Mrs. James M. I Guild Will Give Dance for Charity St. Margaret's hospital guild will hold its annual dinner-dance at the Columbia Club next Saturday. Proceeds will go to further the charitable work of the organization. The guild was organized in 1907 under the auspices of St. Paul's Episcopal church and the leadership j of the Rev. Lewis Brown, present pastor of St. Paul's and chaplain of the guild. It has become ncnsectarian and has concentrated on a limited proi gram of work. Its interests are centered on the children's wards of the city hospital, known as St. Margaret's wards for children and babies, and in the program of occupational theraphy , which it is sponsoring at the hospital. Miss Oblinger Will Become Bride of C. M. Davis Tonight
Marriage of Miss Clara Louise Oblinger and Charles Morrison Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Davis, 336 North Arsenal avenue, will take place tonight at 8:30 at the Westminster Presbyterian church. The Rev. Henry T. Graham will officiate. Miss Oblinger is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert P. Oblinger, 5833 Carrollton avenue. The altar, in a banking of palms and ferns, will have a large basket of chrysanthemums in the center, and will be lighted on each side by cathedral candles in seven-branch candelbrae. Family pews will be marked by greenery and bows of white satin ribbon. Sorority pews will be tied with green and white satin ribbon. Activities of Indiana D. A. R.
Members of Deborah Franklin chapter, G. A. R., were guests of Alexander chapter, D. A. R., last Saturday at the home of Mrs. O. P. Dawson, Franklin. The children’s group gave the program. Attention of D. A. R. members is called to the weekly broadcast from 6 to 7 each Sunday by the Rev. Charles E. Coughlin, pastor of the Little Flower Shrine, Detroit, over a hookup of fourteen radio stations. These patriotic talks have attracted nation-wide interest. Semi-annual state council meeting of D. A. R. will be held Dec. 11 in Indianapolis, at the Columbia Club, with Mrs. James B. Crankshaw, state regent, presiding. State officers, state chairman and state chapter regents are voting members of the council, but the meetings are open to all members. The state D. A. R. executive board will meet Dec. 10. Pottawatomi chapter will have an art exhibit tea Tuesday at the Gary Memorial auditorium. Mrs. F. O. Hodson will act as chairman of hostesses. Mrs. Roscoe C. O'Byrne mailed copies of the 1930-31 D. A. R. state budget with a request for its presentation and adoption, to state chapters last week. Chapter treasurers should send budget money to Mrs. O’Byrne before March 1. Follett, last week, from injuries received in an automobile accident a month age. Memorial services will be held at 7:30 Monday In Trinity church parlors. The January edition of the D. A. R. magazine will start a complete transcript of all Cumberland county, Virginia, marriage bonds now extant and some of those which have, been lost since copies were made of them. The bonds as published close with the year 1840. The edition is limited.
