TOY SECTION IS BUSIEST PLACE IN AYRES STORE Santa's Workshop on Sixth Floor Is Complete in Every Detail. Santa Claus gnomes are busily florking on the sixth floor at L. S Ayres & Cos., a part of which has ■ been turned over to the jolly saint: so be used as a workshop during the Christmas season. In this shop the little men can; be seen toiling over the last-minute rush orders, making toys, painting j drums and sleds, and preparing for ] the great journey, so that Santa’s j friends will not be disappointed on Christmas morning. And while i they work a gnome orchestra plays for them. What is more, Santa Claus himself is directing his workers from his great throne, guarded by two elephants. Children Invited He has invited all children in Ind anapolis to board the chimney express in the new building, and come to visit him. so that there will be no misunderstanding in the matter of Christmas gifts. Ayres have given over the entire sixth floor of the new building to the toy department. The walls are decorated with greenery and Christmas symbols and the lights are covered with red and tinsel shades. An elevator in the new building has been made to ; resemble an entrance to a chimney 1 and carries the children direct to the toy floor. Great Variety Here All manner of toys are displayed. T'or tiie younger speed-minded set, i here are marvelous automobiles operated with pedals, with pneumatic tires and sirens—neat runabouts and sporty streamline models.
