ODD FELLOWS i GATHER IN CITY FOR_CONCLAVE 1,200 Meet in Grand Lodge i Session Scheduled to Last Three Days. Indianapolis welcomed 1,200 Odd fellows who gathered here today for their annual state convention of the grand lodge and grand encampment of the order. The grand encampment began its session at 9 this morning in the grand lodge auditorium of the I.' O. O. F. building, Washington and Pennsylvania streets. Sessions of the grand lodge will be held Wednesday and Thursday. Headquarters of grand lodge officers, headed by W. W. Zimmerman, Rochester, are at the English hotel. Past grand officers and numerous unofficial delegates are here for the sessions. Social activities of the convention will include the annual district deputies banquet Wednesday at 6 p. m. at the Spink-Arms. All past and present grand officers and deputies are eligible to attend. Meridian Lodge 48, Indianapolis, will conduct degree ceremonies Wednesday night at 8 at 43 West Vermont street, in honor of H. C. Rockwood, Indianapolis, incoming grand master. Election of officers will be held Thursday. Fourteen candidates are seeking the office of grand warden of the grand lodge. No convention excursion will be conducted to the Odd Fellows* home at Greensburg and the Indiana Rebekah Assembly meeting, as usually is done in connection with the convention. WANGELIN SELLS HIS FORD FIRM INTEREST Now Owner of Central Sales Company; Fills Cab Order. Harry Wangelin, former member of the Wangelin-Sharp Company, 443 Virginia avenue, today announced he has sold his interests in the firm to Harry Sharp. Wangelin now is owner of the Thirtieth and Central Sales Company, 3009 Central avenue. Ford dealers. Wangelin said his firm has an order for eighty new taxis for the Red Cab Company and twentyone have been delivered. Wangelin and Sharp were in business here thirteen years.

MAN’S VICTORY OVER NATURE IS THEMEAT FAIR Chicago Exposition Will Show Science Has Harnessed Forces. B’J United Brens CHICAGO. Nov. 18.—Man’s conquest of the forces of nature, how he has subdued these giants and harnessed them to do his bidding that the labors of the world as well as provisions for his every comfort may be accomplished, will be the them of the century of progress— Chicago World's fair of 1933. Rufus C. Dawes, president of a century of progress, expresses the primary purpose of the exposition as the portrayal of “the nature and significance of scientific discoveries and of the changes in living conditions brought about by their application in industry.” To accomplish this three exhibits are being prepared: First, a basic science exhibit showing the nature of important discoveries in the realm of pure science and the methods by which they were made; second, applied science exhibits to show the development of various industries as affected by these scientific discoveries: third, a portrayal of the social changes and problems which have been the consequences of this application of science to industry. The explosion will tell in material form the story of man’s rise. The story of the steam engine, the story of electricity from Faraday’s discovery of the electromagnet, the internal combustion engine of the automobile and the airplane, the history of X-rays and radium, of bacteriology. To show what all these developments mean to civilization, to man’s welfare, anthropological and sociological exhibits will be given a prominent place in the exposition. The contrast between man's environment now and earlier will be illustrated by the exhibits telling the story of man's rise, on this continent at least, from the most primitive times to the present.
