590 Merit Badges to Be Given Girl Scouts at Fall Court Saturday

At one of the largest fall courts ever held 590 merit badges will be awarded to several hundred Oiri Scouts of the city at 2 Saturday, at the Broadway M. E. church. The silver service stripe will be awarded to Mrs. Charles E. Cole, captain of Troop 28, and the thanks badge to Mrs. J. R. Farrell, who has conducted classes in the home merit badges which approximately 203 Girl Scouts have attended. The silver service stripe designates more than five years of consecutive service to Girl Scouts. The thanks badge is given to one to ■whom Girl Scouts owe gratitude for assistance in promoting girl scouting. This will be the last big court of awards due to th<= fact that the committee on badges and awards has deemed it wiser hereafter to have the awards made in troops. Possibly there will be one citywide court a year at Camp Dellwood. The awards will be presented by Mrs' E. Blake Francis, Mrs. Charles F. Cole, Thomas Howe. Mrs. W. W. Thornton, Mrs. A. W.
