Democratic Candidates, Mayor Sullivan described their fitness and qualifications for the offices which they are seeking. He paid special tribute to the records of Representative Louis Ludlow and Charles “Buck” Sumner, Democratic candidate for sheriff. “Ludlow made a wonderful record in Washington in , the last two years,” Sullivan said. “He is a man of great ability, a tireless worker, and gets things done for this congressional district. It would be a misfortune if he were not returned to congress. “Charles Sumner is a man of great courage, who would, alone, undertake the arrest of the most desperate criminal In the world. “He is absolutely fearless and is just the man to intrust with the protection of life, property and travel along our county highways. “He has told you that he will enforce the law. He always keeps his word and you never will regret casting your vote for Buck Sumner." 1 The mayor, in discussing county conditions, pointed out that: “A political party can be in power too long. It is a good thing for a com-

In my opinion the election of the Democratic ticket will be a good thing for the citizens of Marion county' and a good thing for the Republican party, itself. I, therefore, strongly urge the election of the entire Democratic ticket.” Turning to the city administration. Sullivan told of construction of three new buildings at the city hospital, construction of the municipal airport, and relief of traffic conditions through opening of the Delaware street approach to the
