'WILD JACKASS' SENATORS ARE FIGHTING ALONE Western Progressives Are Accorded No Aid by G. 0. P. Committee. /•" Fcriwn -// oirard KfAC*T>avtf’ AlUnn^e DENVER, Oct. 24.—The Republican national committee and senatorial campaign committee virtually have closed up shop and gone out of business as far as aiding in re-election of western progressive enators is concerned. The “sons of ’he wild jackass,” bereft of administration or party support, are huddling together and going it alone. If they win, they will be under no obligations to the White House or to the party, and they will make more of their independence than ’hey have in the past. Their actual leader it Senator Borah, of Idaho. Though he is up for re-election himself, he has a comparatively easy t ime, as always, and can afford to answer the distress summons of his associates. He has sent letters and tatements out on behalf of all of t hem, and he will speak in Nebraska lor Norris later in the month. May Go Into Montana If necessary, he will go into Montana to campaign for Senator Walsh 'Dem.) against Judge A. J. Galen. Borah’s two-room office in Boise, Idaho, is for the present the political headquarters of the progressive forces. Because of his part in the western battle, and the failure of the administration or normal party agencies to supply reinforcements, Borah’s prestige with the insurgent group undoubtedly will be enhanced at the December session. Nobody who knows him doubts that he will make the most of it in the predicted battle with the administration over additional frrm legislation and correction of what lie regards as “tariff evils.” Moses Avoided Boise Boise, incidentally, was one place which Senator Moses of New Hampshire, chairman of the senatorial campaign committee and author of the “wild jackasses” description, was lucky eno igh to avoid. Although he visited Helena, Mont., to aid Galen, and it was announced he was on his v •to see Borah, the wisecracking ch n nan never arrived. Had he carried out his original program he would have been met at the station by two “wild jackasses” dressed up in G. O. P. harness and regalia. The Boise Statesman, a Republican newspaper, was prepared to splash its front page with cartoons portraying the senator in the midst of a herd of bucking donkeys. He would have been given a loud western ’ha ha—or, rather, a bray. But he didn’t come. Moses has been roaming in the western and middle western regions, but he is taking no active part i in the progressives’ struggle. If Communists are successful in overthrowing the present government of Spain, it won’t be the fault of Don Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera, who is shown here at a meeting of the National Monarchical Union in Balboa as he denounced the activities of red sympathizers. FLUSH KIDNEYS DAILY BY DRINK 6 DUMB Plain water best diuretic. Add a spoonful Jad Salts to first glass before breakfast to clear intestines of poisons that may pass from intestinal tract to kidneys and invite trouble. If you have miserable pains in your back, or strained feeling, don't jump to the conclusion you have a bad kidney ailment and start dosing yourself with a lot of medicine. Plain W’ater is the best diuretic—the best flusher of the kidneys you can find. Drink a full glass one-half hour before breakfast to which you’ve added a spoonful of ordinary Jad Salts. The water will flush the kidneys. The Jad Salts will cleanse the intestines of the dangerous toxins of Systemic Poisoning which are probably the real cause of those back pains. According to recent discoveries of able men of science, these toxins frequently pass from the lower intestines to the kidneys, causing pus formations and pain—and inviting trouble. Get them out of your system and chances are, those pains you’ve diagnosed as “kidney pains” will go like magic.. You'll feel a general easing up, less of that horribly tired and strained feeling at your back. You’ll feel more snappy and alert than perhaps for years. You can get the Jad Salts at any corner drug store. Just ask for ordinary Jad Salts. Take as suggested above. Also drink two glasses of plain water between every two meals and at bedtime. Then if your “kidney pains” aren't completely gone in six days or less, see a good doctor. Try this simple way today. You’ll be glad that yon did.— Advertisement.
