COFFINISM HIT BY DEMOCRATS Call on Voters to Throw Off Machine Yoke. Marlon county voters 'were called upon at a score of meetings on Wednesday night to throw off the yoke of “Coffinism” and purge the courthouse of the pernicious influences which have mastered all offices.” “General Grant wisely said it would mean nothing to chase the enemy from one place to another; he must either be captured or destroyed,” declared Dr. Albert Miller, at a rally at 1025 Prospect street. “In like manner it means nothing to drive machine politics from the city schools and the city hall and leave it enthroned in the courthouse and county schools," declared Dr. Miller. Frank P. Baker, candidate for criminal court judge, declared: “There is talk concerning amalgamation of the various factions of the Coffinism organization for the benefit of a ‘united party.’ “Closely analyzed, is the bringing together of these factions a movement in behalf of the welfare of the Republican party, or one that actually means absorption of all those factions by Coffin for the sole benefit of Coffinism? Is this attempt to throw off the label of Coffinism an earnest one or is it being done for political expediency?” Henry Ford Back in U. S. Bu United Press NEW YORK, Oct. 23.—Henry Ford returned Wednesday night from a trip to Europe, but refused to grant any interviews because he had been “misquoted all over Europe.”
