U. $. LEADERS GATHER TO PAY M'RAE TRIBUTE Distinguished Group Will Attend Last Rites for Noted Journalist. B >/ United Prets DETROIT, Oct. 17.—Men prominent In the nation’s affairs, journalists, bankers, merchants, statesmen, were gathering here today to pay a last tribute to Colonel Milton A. Mcßae, journalist and philanthropist, who died Saturday in La Jolla, Cal. The body of Mcßae, who started his newspaper career in Detroit, will arrive here late this afternoon. Two daughters, Mrs. Howard Henderson, New York, and Mrs. Richmond Temple, London, will arrive at the same time. Saturday the body will lie in state at the First Presbyterian church from noon until 2, when the services will be read. Colonel Mcßae will be buried beside his wife. Active pallbearers will be George G. Booth, former president of the Detroit News; Robert P. Scripps, Cincinnati, president of ScrippsHoward newspapers; United States Senator Arthur H. Vandenberg. Grand Rapids; Roy W. Howard. New York, chairman of the board of Scripps-Howard papers; Dr. A. G. Studer, general secretary of the Detroit Y. M. C. A., and Edward D Stair, president of the Detroit free Press. The list of honorary palllbearers includes the names of Adolph S. Ochs of the New York Times, Col. Frank Knox and Arthur Brisbane. general manager and editor in chief, respectively, of Hearst newspapers; Walter W. Head, Chicago banker, and James E. West, president of the national council Boy Scouts of America. Boy Scouts troops will form a guard of honor. STATE CHIEFS TO TALK Senator Robinson and Governor Leslie Will Speak at Dedication. Senator Arthur R. Robinson and Governor Harry G. Leslie will speak at the dedication of Washington park cemetery, east National road, at 2:30 p. m. Sunday, Oct. 26. The cemetery is owned by Masonic orders. The Rev. J. Ambrose Dunkel, Dr. Lewis Brown and Mrs. Blanche Regett also will speak. The program will be broadcast over WKBF.
