Women Voters League Board Will Discuss Registration
Plans for continuing campaign I for permanent registration of voters in Indiana will occupy attention of members of the board of directors of the Indiana League of Women Voters at the meeting of the board in Indianapolis Tuesday, Sept. 30. The board meeting will be preceded by an executive board meeting ! Monday night, 6ept. 29. at the Woodstock Club. Mrs. Charles N. : Teetor, Hagerstown, state president, will preside at both meetings. One of the interesting features of the board meeting will be analysis of the returns from the questionnaires sent to legislative candidates. ‘'Permanent Registration of Voters—The Need in Indiana,” is the I title of a pamphlet published recently by the Indiana league. It I contains a brief summary of the need of protection of the ballot box from illegal voters and summarizes the requirements of an effective registration system. The type of registration law outlined in the pamphlet is in operation in several of the neighboring states. Plans for legislative institute in November also will be made by the board. The institute will last only one day. Three sessions will be devoted to a discussion of taxation, state aid to education, law enforcement and election laiy reform. City Girl Weds Chicago Man in Church Study Marriage of Miss Gladys Marquette, daughter of Louis Marquette, 3043 Ruckle street, and Owen Ford, son of Mr. and Mrs. B?rt Ford, Chicago, took place at 10 this morning in the study of the Broadway Methodist church. The Rev. John W. McFall performed the ceremony. Only the families and a few friends were present. Mrs. Helen Short, the bride's sister, was her only attendant. She wore a black and white georgette ensemble and a corsage of Aaron Ward roses, Marlow' Faber was best man. The bride wore a gown of beige georgette with blue hat and slippers, and carried a bouquet of pink roses. Following a breakfast at the home of the bride's father, the couple left on a motor trip to Chicago and Wisconsin, the bride traveling in a blue outfit. They will be at home in Evansville.

25 Speakers Named for Girl Scouts NEW YORK, Sept. 20.—The sixteenth annual convention of Girl Scouts, to be held in Indianapolis Oct. 1-4, will bring together women of prominence and varied interests from all parts of the country. Twenty-five women are on the list of speakers scheduled to address the convention, according to the announcement today from national headquarters of the organization in New York. At the head of the list is Mrs. William H. Hoffman of Barrington, R. I„ retiring president, who will make the opening address. At the first session Dr. Lucia R. Briggs, president of Milwaukee-Downer college, will be the principal speaker. Mrs. Arthur Osgood Choate of New York and Miss Julia Hamp, official United States delegate to the recent international conference, also will speak at the opening session. A stock-taking at the end of the first year of the Girl Scouts’ fiveyear development program will be presented by Mrs. Nicholas F. Brady, chairman of the national board of directors. Particular interest attaches to Mrs. Brady’s report, as this is the first national meeting since inauguration of the plan, which is designed to expand the membership of the organization to more than 500,000 and to develop the necessary leadership to meet this expansion.

Miss Vivian Stevenson to Be Bride in Church Rites Today
Miss Vivian Stevenson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edgar Stevenson, 769 Carlisle place, -will become the bride of Donald Douglas Delbrook, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter F.
