Champ to Play Page Mrs. Hill Favorite in Top Semi-Final Tilt of Golf Meet. 'y 'Unit'd Pren KANSAS CITY, Mo.. Aug. 29. The women’s western golf tournament entered Us semi-final round today with Mrs. O. S. Hill of Kansas City an outstanding favorite to defend the honors she won last year. Miss Dorothy Page of Madison, Wis.; Mrs. Miriam Tyson Bums, Kansas City, and Mrs. Greeg Lifur, Los Angeles, were the other survivors of the field of 150. Mrs. Hill, who won her way into the semi-final stage by defeating Mrs. Lee Mida of Chicago, 3 to 2, Thursday, meets Miss Page in one of the rounds today while Mrs. Lifur and Mrs. Bums meet in the other. The winners will play for the title Saturday. Miss Page came through her quarter round match with a 2 to 1 upset victory over Virginia Van Wie of Chicago. Mrs. Lifur, runner-up in the western tourney last year, defeated Miss Betty Bruen, Kansas City, to gain the semi-finals while Mrs. Bums won from Miss Florence Beebe, Chicago. JOHNSON NET CHAMP NEWCASTLE, Ind., Aug. 29. Wilmer Johnson of Newcastle defeated Doubleday of Richmond, 6-2, 6-4, to cop the state Y. M. C. A. singles tennis crown here Thursday.
Six Scraps Will Be Offered Fans at Harrison Tuesday
Five scraps will support the tenfound main go between Tommy Herman, Chicago, and Meyer Grace, Philadelphia, on the Ft. Grace and Tommy Herman are rated well up in the welterweight division and are touted for ability Record Broken in Mile Trot COLUMBUS, 0., Aug. 29.—The world’s mile record for trotting stallions over a half mile track was broken by O. C. Belt’s High Noon at the Ohio state fair races Thursday. Driven by Charley Valentine, the stallion made the first heat in 2:0414, one-fourth seeond under the previous mark set by Guy Fletcher at Goshen, N. Y., two weeks ago. It also equals the world mile record for all trotters on a half-mile oval. High Noon won the second and third heats and the race.

Last Call for Entries in Babe Ruth Contest
The curtain falls on The Times Babe Ruth contest Saturday and fans who have delayed sending in all-star lineups are urged to hurry, for there is a possibility of the event closing with the afternoon mail delivery. Entry blank, rules and prizes offered have been published previously. Tlie idea is to name ten major leaguers, including two pitchers and one player from each of the other eight positions, place them in a batting order that best suits you, with pitchers last, and accompany entry with- a short essay giving reasons for choice of team. 2 Title Tilts Top City Net Card Today
Two championship matches were on the card for the city parks tennis tourney at Willard park today, Catherine Wolf was a topheavy favorite to defeat the winner of the Helen Schumann-Louise Karley match in women’s finals, and Frank Campbell tackled Don Mellett for the boys’ honors. Play in junior singles reached the quarter-final round today, while second, third and quarter-final round play was on the card in men's singles. No upsets were carded Thursday.
