AUTO LICENSES PRICEJEDUCEB Scores Visit Statehouse to Buy Bargain Plates. Indiana's automobile license plates went on sale at half price today and scores ©f motorists came to the statehouse to take advantage of the bargain. Under the law, plates sell at half price from Aug. 1 until the close of the year. This gives a seven month period for the state to collect the full fee and five for the half fee. But enforcement of the new plate rule seldom starts before Feb. 1. Many motorists "get by somehow”

Baler and Straw burn Bjj Times Social COLUMBUS, Ind., Aug. I.—A large straw stack and a baler were destroyed by fire on the Fred Long farm two miles west of here causing a loss of more than SI,OOO. A spark from the baler set fire to the’ straw and the flames spread rapidly, burning stubble over a large area and almost reaching a large barn filled with hay, corn and oats. A bucket brigade succeeded in saving the bam. The straw was valued at $250. and the baler outfit, was owned by Philip Horn, at SI,OOO.
